That's a quick turnaround AJ. You must have gotten the info a few weeks back and started printing them in your garage. From Rivals, you can get a 20% off discount on a "Return of the Mack" shirt with the code: rivalsthanksyou20

Nike has more power than anyone in the athletic department except for Roy. The argyle isn't going anywhere and it shouldn't. You're the only one who wants to play in a sweater and leather helmets.@andrew jones think with mack back he’ll bring back those uni’s and dump this argyle, lol!!!

I haven't talked to Nike personally, but I'm assuming they like to make money. Branding makes money. If you think the university came up with that idea, you're giving the PR department too much credit.Would love an explanation as to how Nike gives a rip about the UNC football uniform. Things like the argyle pattern are university attempts at branding and not Nike concerns.

I know they can make requests, I just seriously doubt the PR department got together and came up with this idea. I think the more likely scenario is they asked Nike for a plan to tie all the uniforms together in some way and create a new unique brand for the school. That's part of why you go into business with them.Schools can regularly make requests, and if their logos are their logos, and if their traditions are their traditions they are part of the mix, too. I think the argyle is officially part of UNC's newer traditions.

The argyle had been on the basketball uni's since the early 90's, IIRC. I thought they added it to the football (and I assume other sports as well) a few years ago on the 25th anniversary of the argyle.I know they can make requests, I just seriously doubt the PR department got together and came up with this idea. I'm not sure about the anniversary. It would make sense though. The argyle had been on the basketball uni's since the early 90's, IIRC. I thought they added it to the football (and I assume other sports as well) a few years ago on the 25th anniversary of the argyle.
I personally like the argyle look, it's unique and has become a part of UNC like the checkers at Tennessee. LOVE the baseline on its hoops floor, just like the end zone.
That said, Nike has a role in it but UNC can say yay or nay to any uniform, and a coach can also request a uniform. We will see.
NO THANKS!
