RG 3 to.................................

Temp move - get him to compete with whoever they draft in the first... RG3 is playing for his new contract elsewhere with this signing. Last chance, I would assume.

A few details on his contract according to local sports channel 2 yrs for $15 Million ... of that $6.75 million guaranteed. Incentives bump it up to potentially $22 million for two years

The Browns are also likely to draft a QB with 2nd pick to "groome" over the long haul. RG 3 WILL be the starter for this team in 2016

This contract is a mid level (rank 15-20) starter contract in the NFL

I would agree on these points - but bottom line, he's playing essentially in a "contract year" to get paid somewhere else. Browns aren't going to select a QB in the draft to not ever play him.

LOL the Cleveland Browns have to be the worst franchise in American pro sports. The stupidity of their moves never ceases to amaze me. Drafting Wheeden in the first round was absolutely a criminal offense.

Not even the worst franchise in the NFL (hi, Oakland!).
Was thinking about the Raiders as I typed my post, but the Raiders have been to a Super Bowl within the past 15 years and have had some success in the distant past.

The Browns are just....bad. But yeah both franchises suck. The NFL is structured so that if you're bad, you can become good again due to the draft setup. You almost have to try to suck in order not to improve in the NFL.

The Browns are bad, no doubt. But honestly, that team needed to be imploded and start over. Hue is a good coach...he needs to start instilling HIS culture there. But unless everyone can get on the same page, top to bottom, it won't work.

Look at Carolina - Ron built a culture there that works, and he's in perfect sync with Gettleman's decisions - that's why it is working.

Yeah, at least the Raiders have some history (in most of our lifetimes) of winning championships. They appear to be on the rise now, but the jury is still out.

The Browns however, ain't done $#!+ since the 50's? They have drafted and traded for so many loser QB's it's gotten beyond ridiculous. Here's their list of starters since Cleveland got the Browns back...... sheesh.

This line from their wiki page says all you need to know about the dumpster fire that is the Cleveland Browns:

Since resuming operations in 1999, the Cleveland Browns have struggled to find success. They have had only two winning seasons in 2002 and in 2007, one playoff appearance in 2002, and no postseason wins. To date, the Brown's record since their NFL return is 87–185.

And guess who the coach was for that one playoff appearance?

Yeeeeeesh, that is bad. Especially when you consider that they've blown first round picks on...
Tim Couch (#1)
Brady Quinn (#22)
Brandon Weeden [LOL] (#22)
Johnny Manziel (#22)

That's four QBs drafted in the first round in the last 16 years. That's, uhm, not good and stuff, seeing as first round QBs are generally supposed to be franchise QBs. Beyond QBs, they also drafted in the first round Trent Richardson (#3 overall in 2012) and Alex Mack (#21 in 2009). The former turned out to not be very good and is no longer on the team, and the latter is a pro bowler who's not on the team.

So much fail from one franchise.

During that stretch green bay has started 4. Two of those started 6 games due to rodgers being hurt on two diff occasions

Yep; the Packers have had great success at QB. I started a thread a year or so ago discussing which franchise has had the best QB trifecta, and it would be hard to argue with the Packers (Starr, Favre, Rodgers).
