Just read an article about him and St. Johns. He is set to win the Big East conference in his 2nd year as head coach. He is obviously and great coach. He has won just about everywhere he has coached in college. I know about his sanctions and shit. Im not referring to that. Im talking about his coaching ability.

What do yall think Pitino could do with the group of players we have now? Im not saying we should hire him. With his ability to get greatness out of not so great players, wonder what kind of effect he could have on this team.

Just from a coaching perspective, he is one of the best college basketball coaches of our generation. He has won everywhere at the college level and has done so at times without having the most talent.

He's sleazy and he's dirty, and he's an amazing coach. Louisville had to vacate their 2013 NCAA Championship. Or for a more personal touch, go ask former UNC assistant Joe Holladay about the Samardo Samuels recruitment.

What would Pitino do with this current group? Probably get their season vacated or at least get future teams sanctioned.

If we could magically separate the coach from the human being, and only hire the coach, he'd be a good coach here (or anywhere.) But we can't do that. He's also not a miracle worker. He wouldn't be able to do much with our big men. He's a known tamperer (Simeon Wilcher, Ian Jackson.) If Pitino was our coach in the offseason he probably runs off some of our current bigs, and then tampers with some bigs committed elsewhere to flip them to UNC. So UNC probably would have bigs that at least fit Pitino's system, which means our biggest weakness in '24-'25 would no longer be an issue.

He's a basketball genius. I've never had any hate for Pitino. Anyone that thinks he's the only one doing anything shady is kidding themselves. He plays by the same rules as most everyone else and he's just better at it.
