I was actually just having this conversation on another board. While his pay from UNC is low compared to some coaches, his total comp when you include outside sources is significantly bigger. I don't know the exact numbers, but he gets a nice paycheck from Nike, basketball camps, TV and radio shows and public appearances among other things. Dean was paid a relatively small amount by UNC and I think Roy has just continued to take the home town discount. He could get more if he wanted.
Roy is 7th in the ACC.

[edit] Correction: He's 7th out of the 9 ACC coaches who made it to the NCAA tournament. Meaning he might not even be in the top half of the conference if the other 6 coaches were included.
