Stupid for him to say anything, but it might be a blessing in disguise. UNC football has actually been okay, and basketball doing great. Imagine how much better if they just put this crap behind them and us.

I don't think anybody is saying that Alabama invented cheating or is alone in doing it, but they've certainly elevated it to an art form.
you should follow this up with examples...and something more than "have you seen the recruits they get" because that doesn't cut it.
Personally I wish all of this stuff were just legalized anyway, we know it is going on all over the country even if not everyone is doing it. A car dealership wants to give a poor kid a free car to go to Bama? I have no problem with that, as it's not like Troy outcompetes them for recruits ever under the current system. It's already all about the money, even if sometimes just indirectly based on the facilities and coaching you offer. Small schools like Troy and App State will never land a top recruit.
I can see not letting schools directly pay the players so that they remain students rather than employees (and to ensure Title IX compliance), but I think players should be able to profit off of their likeness. College sports will go on if guys are making money on the side, just as it already has for 100 years with them doing so.
