Scary Songs

Ive seen GWAR 4 times in concert and going again to HOB tomorrow night. Although no one in the group is original member, I'll still go for the entertainment value.

I'm seeing them Nov 10 in Richmond (final date on their tour). None of the musicians are original members but a couple of the artists who make the show costumes and props are (or at least they came on board within 1 year or so of the group's inception). My cousin is the Shop Foreman and he's been with them for over 30 years. Their shows are so awesome.

Songs aren't really scary. However, during the month of October I play all the themes from various horror movies (Phantasm, Halloween, Cannibal Holocaust, The Shining, Poltergeist, The Excorcist, etc...) for my students.

This song isn't scary (it's actually quite good), but the album cover used to freak me out as a kid...

Just look at that freaky-looking witch in front of that spooky ass house.

ETA: and just for good measure this album was released on Friday the 13th (2/13/70).

When my sons were young, I would put this song on the stereo, jack up the volume and show them this album cover and tell them this giant metal man is stomping around outside the house. Scared the crap out of them. (Also after poasting this, I'm waiting for someone to put what I did on the "you deserve a beating" thread.)
