Neither one of them get much pub especially the talented junior QB at the national level but stats do not lie and they are both putting up big time numbers.

There will always be a bias for big name schools like Ohio State and Alabama to fill out the All American teams but if stats mean anything these two guys stats match with anyone else's regardless if they are in power conference or not.

Hopefully the press will at least take a look at what these guys are doing...

Depends on our record. The voters look at how good the team is too. If we can run the table they have an outside shot assuming they keep doing what their doing.

If Mitch continues to put up the kind of numbers he is now, and we win out and win the ACC then he could he could even get Heisman consideration.

If we get through the next two weeks then he has some opportunities to put up monster numbers against teams we should take behind the woodshed

If spelling is that important than forgive me but if this thread brings up a interesting question and makes you wonder if UNC has a real chance of having a couple offensive players get awarded with all American honors then I will gladly take any criticism for spelling.

Spelling someone's name is fairly important -- if you were a journalism major, you would've just gotten a 0 on this assignment.

BTW, you can go back and edit the thread title and spell it correctly so that we don't look silly for the whole public to see. @heelbent can we get a thread title edit?

They should get consideration, their numbers alone merit it. Now I agree that record counts and we need to keep winning to enhance their chances. I also agree that Switz has a great shot but Mitch faces greater competition in a year with guys like Action Jackson, Deshawn Watson, etc... There are a lot of excellent QB's this year.

Suffice it to say I'm thrilled to have both of them on our team. I don't know that I'd trade our receiving corp for any other in the country.

Man, you act as if ID misspelled Mitch's name on purpose? I am pretty sure that if ID were a journalism major and he was writing this for a grade that he would proof it tighter. But the fact is ID did not write this for a grade nor did he write it for a pay check, and so what if he made a mistake in the spelling of Mitch's last name, I reckon that means he is not perfect, are you perfect, I am not, do not think anyone here is. How about we continue on celebrating that awesome win yesterday and not feel the need to snipe back & forth over little stuff.

He never suggested anything of the sort. You've got two people in this thread alone who think there's an "n" in Mitch's last name (there's not). Makes us sound like a bunch of front runners IMO.

raising, I am just saying, ID did not misspell on purpose, it did read to me as a snipe, and I was simply saying can't we at least enjoy this fantastic win for a day and not need to snipe back & forth.

I don't understand what the phrase " Makes us sound like a bunch of front runners", not saying it does not apply, I just do not understand the term, at least in the context you used it.

The snipe started when ID called other fans' loyalty into question in the game thread: "...just like everyone who showed ZERO faith late against Pittsburgh last week your true colors and comments say alot about you yet again." (link)

Front runner, i.e. you'd think a UNC football fan would know the starting quarterback's name. He obviously thinks that's his actual name, and sadly he isn't the only one.

Bruce Feldman's Top 5 Heisman Trophy candidates after Week 5
5. Mitch Trubisky, North Carolina, QB: I thought about finding room for Deshaun Watson and Christian McCaffrey, but it's time to give some love to Trubisky, who was superb in the Tar Heels’ win at Florida State. Actually, he's been superb all season with a 13-0 TD-INT ratio, while completing 76 percent of his passes. He’s also run for four touchdowns."

Danny Kannel said Mitch is the most under rated QB in the country. I believe him. He's putting up All American numbers - 1711 yards 13 Tds 0 Ints 76% completion rate so far. Any coach in the country would take that all day long.

Having a zero in the interception column makes his numbers just look stupid. It's tough to put the ball in the air that many times without getting picked off

It's also messing up my stats, because a TD:INT ratio with a -0- in the denominator basically opens a wormhole in the space-time continuum or something like that. I have to use a proxy that's technically inaccurate. Yeah, it's all about me.

Incidentally, Jarod Evans of VT has a 13:1 TD:INT ratio. He has flourished in Fuente's offense and is actually ranked ahead of Mitch in passing efficiency (4th to MT's 6th).
