Yes because conservatives are meanies.or should these platforms be available to everyone who isn't breaking the law?
Yes. Not a protected classDo business owners legally have the option to deny service based on politics?
Yes. Not a protected class
In think that’s perfectly fair. I thought the cake people were within their rights to deny the homo cake personally. Then my wedding cake bidness would never sell to Liberals
Kind of an interesting question. When they first came our, I would have said yes. But now they swim in between social media and news source. I think censorship is largely dumb and creates a backlash.
What in the world is Patreon?
What tax bracket are you talking about? This is a really tricky situation. From my understanding, places like Facebook try to consider themselves a free speech platform in order to a) fall into a different tax bracket, and b) keep themselves from being held liable for anything posted on their site. The problem with this is that if you consider yourself a free speech platform, you can't ban those with opposing viewpoints.
What are you calling conservative? What has been banned that you object to? But to answer your question, they can ban anybody for any reason except the protected classes. I'm surprised you even have to ask...or should these platforms be available to everyone who isn't breaking the law?

I answered your question and I asked you what you thought. Of course I should have known that’s behond your ability. Just like your ability to see what a shit show Trump would be....I was asking for opinions you dolt. I know what they can and can’t do.

It’s a crowdfunding platform for artists and creators. What in the world is Patreon?
It’s a crowdfunding platform for artists and creators.
One of my favorite bands is wildly unpopular so I donate $20 a month to help them continue making music. That’s a little tongue-in-cheek, of course. They’ve simply grown tired of dealing with labels and lawyers and distribution so they’ve found an alternate way to connect with their audience. Patreon allows a lot of personal interaction with the artists which is part of what makes it so appealing. And this particular band has branched out into brewing, hosting a radio show, collaborating with visual artists, etc. so it’s kind of cool to see the freedom the platform provides them.
Nailed it. That last sentence is the money shot. Chick-fil-A is doing just fine, in case anybody wants to know.Actually, I think my stance would be if you're a public company, you can't discriminate on any of the "protected classes". Although, I'd extend the protected classes to include all pieces of a class (i.e. can't have things only for gays or only for blacks just like you can't have things only for heteros or only for whites).
If you're a private company you should be able to discriminate on whatever the hell you want to. If it's truly outrageous, the market will bear that out and bury you.
Settle down goober. The tread ask a question. I pointed out that yes they can, but should they, is up to them and their business model. No one said anything about Trump, you old coot. This thread has nothing to do with Trump.
Are you trying to fill in for Billy?

I mostly agree. But in this era of wokeness, I think any company, even public should be allowed to discriminate against any class. Let’s exopse everyoneDamn, thought I was gonna be coming in with the hot take that I think they should be able to ban conservatives because I feel like the bakery owners were within their rights to deny the gay cake. But I see that take has been taken.

You’re cheeky. And it’s cute. Has it’s moments. But I feel like you want to lure me back to your apartment and get me high enough to watch Alex Jones YouTube clips.
