Shows (and movies) I've never watched...

Never watched TV Shows/Series:
- Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul. Just not into it.
- Honey Boo Boo or any of those damn shows
- Same with the Khardashian crapola
- Real Housewives (ANY of them)
- Sons of Anarchy (Just didn't have time, but oldest son LOVES it)
- How I Met Your Mother (Sorry, can't stand Doogie Howser)
- Game of Thrones (No HBO now)
- Walking Dead (Not into it, though a very good friend of mine has a part in it)

Movies:
- Anything "political"
- Fast & Furious after the first 2
- Saw (Any of them)
- Madea (Any of them)
- Anything Oprah is in

Now, I would HIGHLY recommend Longmire to anyone. Can't wait for the new (and, sadly, LAST) season to start this week.

Also love The Blacklist.

I did watch a few episodes of longmire, and like it. I have it in my queue. Same with justified.
IMHO, Justified is better. The pilot episode will hook you in. Episodes 2-6 that follow are not superb. But if you can make it to episode 7 of Season 1, it gets amazing from there. And then it pays off quickly because Season 2 is the best season of the whole show.

I haven't watched anything mentioned except Seinfeld, and I have watched all of the episodes, multiple times.

I'd have to say that when it comes to "entertainment" on TV or whatever, I am very conservative. I rarey, if ever, watch anything new. I will go on You Tube and watch old episodes of shows I saw as a kid.

I watch Pawn Stars and American Pickers. I watch Smithsonian Channel and other doc/history shows. And, I watch college football, basketball, and NFL football.

Haven't seen Justified. Might have to start that one after my son's football season is done. I tried to watch Last Chance U, but it got old after the first season.

I used to like Pawn Stars, but every episode is the same. American Pickers is cool, but after a while, it, too, is basically the same. Although I do like seeing what people in different parts of the country hang on to!

I have become hooked on car shows on Velocity lately. I used to watch Fast & Loud on Discovery, until Aaron left. Now I catch it some on Velocity, but not much. I like Diesel Brothers, too, but I find myself really loving Wheeler Dealers. I loved the guy they had on before, but the new guy isn't bad either. Love that they take a car they pick up somewhere, clean it up and resell it pretty much as is. I like Phantom Works, too.

Agree. I like watching Pickers just to see some of the stuff they come across.

And the car shows I like just to see the classic cars and how they restore them. Fast n Loud, Fantom Works usually do some good stuff. I like Graveyard Cars too but the main dude is annoying. I suppose you could say the same about the other car shows too.

I like Fantom Works, too. Agree, Graveyard Cars is OK, but I am not a Mopar guy, so it doesn't appeal to me as much and, yes, he is annoying. But, his daughter is rather attractive and they let her work on the cars a lot, so I guess it has that going for it!

One other one that is growing on me is Bitchin' Rides. Not really my style on most of their builds, but they do some pretty cools stuff. I am more of a purist, so I like the classic cars to stay classic, but they have done some pretty cool stuff. I am also starting to appreciate Speed is the New Black, because they take classic cars and put modern stuff on them to make them ride and perform better, while keeping the classic look. Not 100% my thing, but I respect what they are doing.

I also find myself watching more stuff like Alaska the Last Frontier and Homestead Rescue. That and The Last Alaskans. I tried to watch Edge of Alaska, but it has too much of a "staged" feel.

I also really like Mountain Men, especially since they have a guy from NC on there.

What's the third?
The Wire. It’s so intricately crafted with a cavalcade of characters that are well defined and superbly acted. There are scenes that play better upon rewatches when you see how the characters evolve over the course of the show. It’s totally worth watching.

If the LOTR movies never came out, the three Hobbit movies would be regarded extremely high, bordering on a masterpiece. But since the LOTR movies came out first and that trilogy is a masterpiece, the Hobbit trilogy doesn't quite stack up. I.E. Hobbit trilogy = great; LOTR = masterpiece

If you have not read the books, I'd recommend just skipping the Hobbit movies altogether and start with LOTR. Ultimately, the only important thing you need to know from the Hobbit is that Bilbo Baggins finds the One Ring, and that story is explained in the opening prologue of The Fellowship of the Ring (first LOTR movie).

I recommend keeping a laptop handy with wikipedia up while watching. It can come in handy for referencing obscure references to places or names. But that's optional of course.
I would agree the LOTR trilogy is a masterpiece but I don’t know if I’d go so far as to call Hobbit great, even in the vacuum of not comparing it to LOTR. If you take all the great parts from those 3 movies and made 1 movie, I’d grant it that. I don’t think they are as bad as the reputation, but there is a lot of fat that should have been trimmed that wasn’t because WB had dollar signs for eyes when Peter Jackson mentioned it “could” be done. There are great moments (Riddles in the Dark for instance is perfect, Smaug has a great look) but there should have been one 3 hour movie to tell the story and jam it with greatness, not unnecessary love stories or the right hand man at Lake Town.

My Dad (RIP) was a Mopar guy, so he always had some Plymouth or Dodge during that late 60s/early 70s period. Some of those cars are nostalgia for me. I sure wish he would've had a 70 Challenger that he could've passed on to me!

And yes, the daughter is pretty easy in the eyes.

Mad Men is amazing and Sons day Anarchy is good for a couple seasons. Then it falls off the damn cliff.

As the most esteemed poaster on OOTB, I’ll share my must-watch list.

1. The Wire. Simply the greatest show ever.
2. Sopranos. Close second.
3. Curb Your Enthusiasm. GOAT comedy.
4. Season 1 of True Detective.
5. Mad Men.
6. Deadwood. Hugely underrated show.
7. Rome. Great watch on HBO.
8. Narcos. Season 3 was especially great.
9. Game of Thrones
10. It’s Always Sunny

I’m forgetting some but these are all great watches.
Wire and Sopranos are legends. Curb is great, don’t know if I’d give it GOAT comedy, but I love it. This current season hasn’t been its best though, but I’m still enjoying it. Season 1 of TD is one of the best things in TV history, season 2 was never gonna measure up. Mad Men is great, agree that Deadwood is very underrated, read this weekend that they are stating pre-production on the movie, will believe it when I see it though. Haven’t watched Rome or Narcos, heard good things. GoT is probably my favorite current show. Always Sunny is a gem, so good. Amazing they are 12 years in and still just as funny, very few shows have pulled that off.

Back when I had HBO, I really got into the Sopranos. Gandolfini was great as Tony. I really liked Edie Falco, too.

OK, I have to admit, I was somewhat of a movie buff back in the day. As my kids got older, I had less time to sit and veg on movies, but I caught myself watching one of my all time favorite movies late last night that I hadn't seen in a long time. The Count of Monte Cristo (newer version).

Not that it was a great movie, just one of those I happened to really like. Guy Pearce was fantastic as Count Mondego and I really liked Jim Caviezel, too. Richard Harris was great in it, too, as was Luis Guzman. Not great acting or a great overall movie, but I just liked it.

Yep. One movie, two at the most.

With that said, I have the Hobbit extended edition boxed set on my wish list and will absolutely find time at some point to watch the even-longer version. Love me some Middle Earth.

We have very similar tastes

Agree to disagree slightly. You touched on the things I dislike the most about the Hobbit trilogy (Alfred, love story that doesn't even make sense between Gandalf and Galadriel [she's married. You see her husband in TFOTR movie]), but even with these things, I believe the Hobbit would be held in much higher regard if the LOTR movies were never made.

Obviously it should've been 1-2 movies, but I don't believe you if you tell me the second and third Hobbit movie don't stand out on their own. Those are good movies, just not as good as LOTR. IMO.
