...a Brandon Robinson commitment may be on the horizon, a few observations.
I've only seen him live once, but I've been texting back and forth with a couple of buddies down here who've seen him more, and they pretty much second what I saw:
Rangy kid, 6'5ish, natural soft touch but like many HS kids will need to get more consistent with his shooting motion and likely will, not the sort of player who necessarily jumps out at you when you see him and won't blow you away with athleticism but plays the game with a natural ease and good instincts... as with Kenny Williams, he will need to get way stronger for the college game. Seems to have a good attitude.
Anyway, lessee if he's the next '16 prospect to pull the trigger

I take it his visit over the weekend went well.....does a pledge from Robinson destroy any chance that we have with alkins?

I hear ya. Lotsa positive vibes coming from his direction, but yeah I know we're all in believe-em-when-we-see-em mode.as for commitments ;)

Until he cancels that visit with FSU in October I'm not going to believe that a commitment is imminent.

While I believe we'll ultimately get Robinson, he did rate the visit an "8 or 9" which doesn't sound like an impending commitment. I think he'll take the remainder of his visits and then decide.

The word is that Robinson is trending towards us. I'd love to have a commitment from...somebody. But I do worry how this will impact other players. Not sure Alkins will have reservations based on this but I do think Woods will.

Some of these recruits have had offers for months and have not committed. Roy is not in a position to wait on recruits. Heck, the future is now.

Sure seems Brandon had a great visit, the thing he mentions that means a great deal was the "team" interaction and how they do things as a group. Come on to the Hill Brandon.

Where are you getting this guy is committing to us soon? He said his trip was an 8 or 9. Good but not earth shattering like a commitment is on the horizon?

I didn't say when or anything for sure
Have heard that while F$U was strong, Roy's recent amping up attention has turned his head. We have a very good shot. That is all.

UNC needs quality bodies. Even if robinson commited Alkins will still be priority. Rawle and Brandon brings different things to the table. The staff wants both and def takeable.

Rawle and Theo would start, backed by Kenny and Brandon, respectively. Then Rawle and possibly Theo go pro so that junior Kenny and soph Brandon step in. Depending on the 2017 class, of course.

We've heard so little about 7th that it's hard to think he's still a hot prospect for us. OTOH, if he doesn't want to come to UNC, why is he dithering about his choice? Maybe it's just as simple as he's comfortable waiting to see what happens.

Even if Brandon commits, I'm sure we'd be happy to add 7th to the roster, and he wouldn't be scared off. If Rawle were to commit, though, I'd guess 7th goes somewhere else.

Will be a few spots open after this season (roster). I will trust Coach Williams to make the firm, correct calls in the final analysis. He is captain of this UNC Basketball ship after all. Things will work out as they should I would think...

Seventh is totally quiet. Rarely can get info out of him, def down to UNC and SC. Will know a lot this weekend for his OV. Wonder how UNC goes through this one.

If you watch the video posted after his Georgetown visit he hints (albeit slightly) that no one is in the lead but that if UNC shows him "something" that could change.

I still say we are the lean, need to WOW him this weekend on campus.

Commitments from him and BR would really start to round out a nice class for us.

I have this feeling that it is first come first serve between woods & Robinson and I am not as high on Woods as many others seem to be.

Woods reminds me more and more each day of Dexter Strickland......

Come on Brandon make a decision and pick the Heels! Come on down to Chapel Hill and make this Tarheel happy! Go Brandon and Go Heels!!

I hope Seventh enjoys his visit this weekend and I would love to have him representing Carolina as well. Enjoy yourself and find a home. Come be a Tarheel, Mr. Woods!! Would love to get a commitment from Mr. Robinson and Mr. Woods. That would make my week.

I completely agree with that. I think Woods is even more of an elite athlete than Dex was, but their shot and the way they play are eerily similar.

Dex is actually a good comparison. Both freakishly athletic and great finishers. I'd give Seventh the edge in his ability to create his own offense and find other guys, but I doubt he'll be the defender Dex was.

I just hope he improves that jumper. I cringed every time Dex shot from outside of 15 feet.

There are certainly athletic comparisons but Woods is a far more advanced scorer.

I'd like to believe that but if that's true, why in the hell is Woods ranked in the 50s? Dex, for as limited as he was offensively was ranked in the 30s if memory serves me. I understand that every class is different but 20 spots is significant for a supposed "more advanced scorer".

You have to consider this class is LOADED! Plus Woods was trying to go from playing the 2 to playing the 1, messed up his ranking.

i've never seen woods ranked that low....every ranking i've seen is mid 20's-low 30's....
