Definitely worth a look

Partial member ND is #3. Other than that, the top ACC school is Clemson at #16. Then we have FSU #19, UNC tied for #22 and Miami tied for #25. I love making fun of Moo, but it is #30 on this list, ahead of all other ACC schools. Dead last among ACC schools is BC at #62 (of 69 total).

When the announced additions are finalized, the BT will have 8 schools in the top 25, the SEC will have 9, the Pac will have 3. The Big XII will have none.

This ranking helps make it clear why a number of people think that ESPN would like to find a way to maximize the most desirable Pac schools (#15 Washington, tied #22Oregon, and #17 Stanford) by some kind of deal with the ACC. There also haas been talk of doing that with the Big XII . The highest Big XII teams are: tied #25 Ok ST, #27 Iowa St, and #37 TCU. BYU (#40) is ahead of Baylor (#44).

"There could well be a fierce battle at some point over North Carolina. School and conference administrators and TV execs like the Tar Heels more than these rankings do. Former Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany long theorized about bringing his alma mater into that league, and the SEC likely would also covet Carolina. Its academic profile, stature in the 10th-most populous state and appeal as a power in men’s basketball and Olympic sports would be an attractive commodity in realignment."

Our academics would fit well with many of the Big Ten schools. Not so with the SEC. That, among a number of other things, would make it much tougher to recruit competitively in the SEC.
