SI's Thamel on coaches who could be pursued this year

That makes zero sense. You honestly think Texas or LSU is going to hire Fedora after losing to duke? If he is committed to leaving it's going to have to be for a lesser job.
Surely you don't think LSU or Texas would take Tom Herman after Houston got destroyed by SMU.

If, say, LSU has reached out to Fedora and made an offer, it would not have been conditional on beating Dook. Any coach worth his salt told he can have the job only if he beats team A, will tell you to get lost - if only because e knows that the very fact of his thinking about the new job could mean he fails to get things done to beat team A.

I have no idea if anybody has contacted Fedora. But I have seen a number of teams look flat as crap, and oddly so, late in the season, and then watch the coach take another job.

I don't think Herman is going anywhere, but at least he has a NY6 win on his record. If Fedora has gotten an offer and given up on this season then I prefer he leave today. Why the hell would you want someone that gives up with a month left in the season?

I just don't think Fedora has received any offer. Elite programs won't tolerate our level of "D".
