I never said I feared death. I fear that he will bring a few bad things on us. If he brings an A bomb on us and we all die then we will all be okay then...we'll be dead and moved on to peace then. I guess I fear NOT dying and having to live in a hell that could have been avoided.
I still find it laughable that people think there is going to be nuclear war now that Trump has been elected.
I don't think we will have nuclear war but the chances of him doing something really stupid and getting the country in trouble is high.
It's a matter of "when he will and how bad", not a matter of "if he will."

Well, we're not talking about Obama. And, I can state from experience that Donald Trump has NOT BEEN "more scrutinized since the election than Obama was in the eight years he was in office." That is simply a lie.
Back to Trump; I never said he was a failure. I'm simply agreeing that he is an accident waiting to happen. He has shown that during the campaign.
Now, don't misunderstand me... I'm aware that politicians lie and fall short of their promises. They ALL do that. But, we're discussing one, in particular. Not Obama, not Gorge W. Bush, not Millard Fillmore. This is a Donald Trump thread.
So what's something you think he'll do that'll be the "accident that happens", and what do you think the effect/consequence of that will be?
I could speculate just about anything imaginable. But, what's the point of arguing something that hasn't happened. The guy hasn't even been sworn-in yet, and already he's shown he can't keep his Twitter account silent. Truth be told, I'm sure he thoroughly enjoys being flavor-of-the month, every month.
Do you need his litany of negatives repeated to you? He's a man that surrounds himself with people who always agree with him. He lacks the capacity to take, accept, or apply ANY criticism. He has no humility whatsoever... none. He truly believes that he knows more about everything than anyone else. I'm fully aware that the vast majority of this board is in love with the guy. That's great. I'm sure he can do no wrong by your/their standards.
I just get a very, very bad vibe about the guy. Most of it comes from the traits I explained above.

He's already stated - and I agree with this - that he is only spouting off on Twitter b/c the media is taking snippets of his comments and twisting it into their own narrative. IMO, there's nothing wrong with wanting the truth to be known, and the media outlets have been exposed for being corrupt, so the "just trust them" route is null and void at this point.
I never said I trusted them either. I don't follow them. I just hear about his petulant-child responses. He cannot handle criticism... at all. He can't take a joke. He's about as thin-skinned as they come. He feels compelled to react to every. single, little criticism that gets tossed at him. He's going to be worn-out in a hurry if he goes that route.
And that all may very well be true. I guess I'm just failing to see where any of that leads to Armageddon
I would argue the opposite. I think he's pushing the envelope in ways people simply aren't used to, but it if leads to real improvement in the country, I couldn't care less that he's on Twitter. People need to be held accountable, and I'm glad we finally have someone willing to do it without boundaries.

I was obviously using hyperbole, Sorry you didn't recognize it. That being said, the subject of my argument wasn't Obama. I was talking about the media's treatment of Trump. In order to do that I had to use a comparison. Would it make you feel better if I said any other president instead of the sitting president? Would Bush have been acceptable?

It's funny. All throughout the campaign every time someone started a thread about something bad Hillary did you and your partner automatically chimed in with a "yes, but Trump did this" post in every single thread. Why the sudden change of heart about not mentioning other politicians in a thread not about them?
First of all, I'm not his "partner", and second of all we didn't really support her either. In fact, deflecting is something we both were adamant about NOT doing. You have us mixed up with someone else.
I understand why this particular tweet would be alarming to you and some others. I'm just not one of them. Since I fully believe we would never actually use them -- a belief I absolutely do not have regarding other countries that want nukes -- I have no problem with our POTUS having this philosophy...and letting those other countries know it.
I believe this tweet was sent out after Trump met with his military nominees -- who I would anticipate know more about this climate than you or me -- so, I trust he, and they, know what they are doing.

Obama has gotten the biggest pass of any President in history. Being the first President of color, he simply was not going going to be criticized in any significant manner. Hillary would have been afforded the same free reign had she been elected. Don't forget, the right has Fox News, the left has ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, etc, the Washington Post, the New York Times, the LA times, etc..., virtually every other news media outlet.
When discussing liars, or Presidents who failed to live up to their promises(If you like your policy, you can keep it; If you like your doctor, you can keep him; The average family will save $2500 per year on insurance per year, etc...), it is only natural to compare former politicians. Bush still receives 90% of the blame for Obama's failed policies. Get real.
We've just endured 8 years of the biggest egomaniac in American history. Obama surrounded himself with sycophants and toadies who do nothing but stroke his massive ego. He has politicized the Justice Department by appointing yes men/women to lead what should be a non political branch of our government, in order to further his leftist ideology. Not since Nixon have I been more disgusted with the office of the President.
His wife has been a disgrace to the title of FLOTUS. It was disgusting enough that she said the "first time she was proud of her country" was when her husband was elected, despite the fact that she and her husband attented Harvard Law School as "at need" students. She recently told Oprah that "We are feeling what it feels to not have hope", a great message from sonmeone who has so greatly benefitted from our system. Like her husband, she spreads negativism instead of optimism. They both disgust me.
