I preferred to watch the original trilogy first, but you can't go wrong either way, IMO.You gotta watch them in chronological order, not order of release, right?
Are we all in agreement that Luke has to be the new Sith lord?
Some friends of mine hosted a Star Wars movie marathon on Saturday. Their house was their neighborhood's model home and was already set up to use one bedroom as a theater room. They upgraded the projector/screen and had somebody add two levels of risers. That allowed them to put in three couches, each one about 10 feet long, so there's plenty of room to sprawl out. We got a Chick-fil-A chicken mini tray for breakfast, ordered pizzas for lunch/dinner, and drank beer all day. It was freaking awesome.
We watched them in "Machete Order" where you completely leave out Phantom Menace. As the argument goes, there's very little from Episode I that doesn't get resolved during the movie or has significant implications for later episodes. So we ended up going IV, V, II, III, VI. The linked article describes some of the benefits, but my favorite part was the transition from III to VI and the way it framed the story as the redemption of Anakin Skywalker.

May you find a new definition of pain and suffering as you are slowly digested in Sarlacc's belly over a thousand years.I'm gonna get blasted for this but here goes....
Let me first say that I love Star Wars. When I was a young kid, I'd wake up on Saturday morning, grab a pop tart and head to the basement to watch one of the three movies on surround sound while the rest of my family slept. It was an awesome way to start a day.
I also loved the new three -- like okay the Phantom Menace was kinda lame, but the podracing stuff was pretty cool IMO, and Darth Maul was a cool villain. IMO, Attack of Clones was actually the worst one.
I guess somewhere along the way, I got spoiled with how amazingly done the LOTR movies were done because I haven't watched the original three Star Wars in awhile......went back to try to watch them this week. I got like 25 minutes into ROTJ and I turned it off. I've never been a huge fan of ROTJ in general, but I don't know, it was just meh to me. I think what it is for me is I love A New Hope so dang much, that it carries my love of the series.
I have no plans to see the new one. Maybe I'll catch it after New Years.
I'll just escape out of that b**** like Boba Fett.May you find a new definition of pain and suffering as you are slowly digested in Sarlacc's belly over a thousand years.
The entire IT department at work is gone today. I wonder why.
There is no such thing, my friend.Crystal Pepsi overdose?
Just saw it. Thought it was really good and stayed true to the original trilogy. None of that endless political blather that we got in the second trilogy. And no useless characters (aka Jar-Jar) or pathetic casting (Hayden Christensen). All the new actors were well cast and delivered solid performances.
