This was an interesting game for the Heels. While it was one of the slowest 100 games since 1996, both teams were on fire shooting the ball, especially ND. Particularly troubling for the Heels was their own lack of assists in the game coupled with Notre Dame's prolific number of assists. In other words, UNC was playing a one-on-one game while ND was playing a team game.

Even though the Heels took the lead with 3:33 to go, it never felt like UNC was going to win. There wasn't good offensive flow, as the team seemed to forget who Armando Bacot was down the stretch. For the game the Heels settled for taking the 3 on 37% of their possessions. Defensively they were once again bad at creating turnovers, with yet another one of their worst games ever at creating turnovers.

We all know this team is bad defensively, and it turned in one of its worst defensive games since 1996. In the last 932 games, UNC has only allowed the other team to score more easily on 39 occasions. Astounding.
