...seems to have quit on Gott. Now, that being said I'm sure they'll muster a herculean effort on Weds., but they have looked disjointed, disinterested and just bad. Blown out by Wake today.

Speaking of which, heard a rumor of a practice confrontation between Gott and Anya before the F$U game (?). Some of y'll closer by may have more info...

...and Clemson botches a last possession for a potential game-winner at dook :rolleyes:

I chalked this up as a guaranteed win for dook. But the lil dbag only went 2-10, 2-7 from 3. I wonder if Clemson defended differently or if Dook just had that big a letdown today. I sense dook has more losses on them especially on the road and maybe even when FSU visits HIS.

Honestly if Clemmy could have hit a decent pct within 10 feet they win going away. As for dook they were hot early but came back to earth.

Rooting for Notre Dame at the moment. FSU is threatening to win the ACC outright with their relatively easy home stretch.

Unless they bounce back, it's hard to see how Gott keeps his job. Did he get an extension recently? Even so, this is inexcusable when you have that much talent.

Wouldn't be surprised to see both State and Clemson make a change after the season because both seemed poised for a promising season with lots of returning players and talented newcomers. However, both now seem to be trending toward the bottom of the ACC Standings...

Gott is also striking out on the recruiting circuit for 2017. He usually has transfers or redshirts in the wings but he isn't going to get those transfers if he can't do better with them.

FSU is not winning in Hansbrough Indoor, bank on that. They struggle as bad, or worse, on the road as we do. I'd like to think the Noles would have a chance to win there but that will be their 5th conference loss. Not sure what the rest of their schedule looks like after that.

In the meantime Ga Tech scores 50 second half points after scoring only 15 in the 1st half. You never know! I think the Jackets will make the tourney btw.

Maybe Gott told him he could only have 5 quarter pounders w/cheese a day instead of 6. But if the truth be known Gotts failure to discipline things like diet and fitness
are merely a microcosm of one of the many shortcomings he has as a coach .. I hate to see him go cause I hate moo U and he guarantees wins our way.

Matt Doherty would be kicking ass with that NC State team.

Literally, someone's arse would be kicked, it may have required the service of a bondsman. The players seemed to quit yesterday, just going thru the motions until the season is done and it could not happen to a more deserrving fan base!

Saw Anja go down on the floor yesterday and it took 2 of his mates to help him up and they almost couldn't, it may have been the most weight room type work any of them have done in the last year.

Watching a little of the SMU-Cincinatti game. Each team has a refugee from the ACC. Semi Ojeleye from Duke for SMU, Kyle Washington from NCSU for Cincinatti.

Both thrown under the bus by their respective coaches. Both starting and doing very well for their new teams.

I never saw Semi play for Duke, but liked Washington's game. We didn't need him but I wouldn't have minded having him on our bench.

Semi (which apparently is pronounced Shem-e) is in the top 500 in 13 of Pomeroy's categories.

For those who are interested, SMU has pulled out to a modest lead with 6 min to go.

I'm more worried about UVa. But at least we have 2 games still to play against them so we control our own destiny as far as they're concerned. Below are the schedules for the teams I think have a chance to still win the ACC reg season:

UNC:
@moo
UVa
Louisville
@Pitt
@UVa
duke

UVa:
@VT
duke
@UNC
Miami
@moo
UNC
Pitt

FSU:
@Pitt
BC
@Clemson
@duke
Miami

Louisville:
@Syracuse
VT
@UNC
Syracuse
@WFU
ND

duke:
@UVa
WFU
@Syracuse
@Miami
FSU
@UNC

Looking at those remaining schedules, I would rank duke's as the hardest, our's as the second hardest and UVa's as the third hardest. Louisville and FSU have the two easiest. But with that said, winning the regular season is unfamiliar territory for FSU and Hamilton. Roy, K and Bennett all have the leg up in that regard as all 3 have done it numerous times. Pitino is a great coach, but they're currently one game back and still have to come to the Dome.

I'm still confident we are going to win the ACC regular season title. We can drop one more (@UVa) and still win. That's what we're going to do. If UVa wins out except for their game against us in Chapel Hill, we'd have the same record, but we'd get the 1 seed based on the tiebreakers (would have split head-t-head but we would have a better record against the others at the top of the conference). It's kind of a good thing that our losses have been to teams in the middle of the standing. UVa's loss to FSU and our win would pay dividends.

That's huge. If we can get at least one more FSU loss, we'll be in good shape. I think FSU will lose at least one more. But we still have to take care of business.

I think duke will likely take them in Camoron, Hamilton's teams usually find a way to wet the bed on the road in big games and really in less than big game road games as well.

I don't remember who it was, but some genius predicted that peeps could win the ACC with 5 losses! I scoffed at this at the time, but clearly I stand corrected. I apologize oh font of wisdom!

I love me some ACC bball just for this reason! This year the old adage of any given day is absolutely true! Half-step if you want to on anybody's home court!

I agree. I also think they'll lose @Pitt or @Clemson.

it gets worse:

Also heard that DS took himself out of the game.

DSJ got what he wanted. He got to take as many shots as he wanted and showcase his skills for pro scouts. Pretty sure that's all he cares about. I would say Tatum feels the same.

I am so glad that egomaniac didn't come to UNC. The quicker something is done to weed out these kids who have no real interest in college, the better.

Reports out about Gott being fired at end of season and they are going after Archie Miller. Archie has to be pissed right now because he is going to have to talk about this until the end of the season. Those idiots can't do anything right.

Um fellers....
...some scuttlebutt that has been wafting in coaching circles for a while also may be coming to fruition. Don't know yet, but...

Addendum: So now there's a story out that the Trinity basketball coach got busted for tax stuff and embezzlement. Gotta wonder what might flesh out of that mess.
