ten years ago today
I was standing on the beach watching surfers getting pulverized by monstrous 30 foot waves created by hurricane Irene which was on the verge of striking the outer banks. as I was standing there A waterspout formed a few hundred yards offshore, an incredible site. Then I went home and an earthquake struck, a small one but enough to rattle dishes in cupboard and send my dog running to his safe place in the bathtub. The biggest “natural phenomenon” day of my life.

10 years ago today, I went to work, then probably on a run, then I came home and ate dinner with my family and then drank a few beers to end the day.

I remember it like it was yesterday.

There’s a stand alone sherwin Williams store in Carolina beach. I never see anyone there. How the hell those places stay in business?
