They actually have morons following crack ride and quoting manalishi.

They have less of an understanding about what happened here than wolpfies do, I am at a loss for words. Not only that, why the hell would they even CARE? State fans know their only hope is to somehow, someway, have someone destroy UNC, because they are our eternal little bitch.

RUinPineHurst has to be an undercover wolpfie, no way he isn't.

Doesn't RU have enough scandals of their own to be concerned with. I had forgotten
the crap that has gone on up there the past few years. See link.

Bingo, but they are running around mouthing the wolpfie UNCheat left and right. Totally aping the crack ride loonies.

Just treat it as the unintentional comedy it is. Heck, we should post some of our favorite quotes here:

For those of you who have never driven through NJ, were you aware that you are not allowed to pump your own gas at the gas station? You have to use full service everywhere. That's so all these Rutgers graduates can have jobs.

It's the biggest joke of a school and program in the entire NE, and that's no small statement.

Now, no need to flame all of them because that board is ate up with idiots. The ones that came over here were polite and actually discussing the game.

Yes, I'm aware of it. It was a weird experience....

Also, I spent a night at Rutgers' campus once. Easily one of the most depressing places I've ever been. Not exaggerating.

We're talking about a school that paid $32,000 to Snookie from the show Jersey Shore for a speaking engagement. I mean, c'mon.

There are jokes upon jokes about New Jersey. I've discovered them all to be true. That place is a butthole. The people there are hemorrhoids.

Ehhh. It is between Pitt and RU.

I have a couple of great friends who went to State and would say generally the same of Moo as RU.

The guys from Rutgers who came over seemed to be good guys. The ol' exception to every rule thing.

I noted on another thread that Rutgers fans have shown a propensity to not merely act like Wuffies but to be stupid enough to hang onf their every word and regurgitate the lot.

That alone is sufficient to accept Rutgers as the Most Loathsome Fan Base in the Northeast.

It is true you cannot pump your own gas in New Jersey. OTOH, gasoline prices have always been lower in New Jersey than in surrounding states, so it's not like you're paying extra. And remember that New Jersey winters can be harsh -- sometimes it's nice to have someone else pumping the gas.

As for the Rutgers board, yes, we do have idiots. (We call them negatoids.) Don't you?

p.s. you may get a posting from a gentleman (I'm told he's actually nice) named RutgersAl. RutgersAl is the kind of fan who is always predicting that Rutgers is about to win a national championship, or beat a team that ends up whipping us. We have learned not to take him seriously; I hope you don't either.

Most of us know RutgersAl, and I think most are like me in finding him entertaining. He is like a SuperFan on Saturday Night Live.

I am still convinced RutgersAl is a parody account. No one could be as blind a homer as he was. Every year Rutgers was so talented that their entire 2 deep would be drafted.... in the first round.

I found their fans to be surprisingly nice when I went to the Pizza Bowl in 2008. I was amazed.

And I went to a conference hosted at RU in 2012 and it is not a dump like you guys are making out.

People watch too much TV and make up their opinions of New Jersey without going anywhere aside from Belmar, Bayonne, or Newark. Most the trash comes from Staten Island to Asbury/Belmar on the weekends.

Sort of like how everyone in the South is a yokel or bigot on TV, we all know it is far from the truth.

Furthermore, rutgersal, AKA "SAL" or "SALLY" is a parody. His YouTube account is hilarious. He takes videos of the game and people around him are telling him to sit down, lol.

The internet is serious business, folks.

We are arguing with and playing against Rutgers obviously we are not where we need to be in the Football World...

Those losers talk about UNC as much as the wolpfies do. It is amazing, in a psychopathic sort of way. They are obsessed, clueless, but obsessed.

Someone should go share Emmert's latest with them and watch them melt like the wolpfies are.

Guys,

Living in NJ is no picnic!!!! Rutgers University has a nice campus, but it's grads make me throw up in my mouth on a daily basis. One more year on this contract before I can escape back to N. C. I wear my UNC gear everyday, other than a few odd looks, none of those folks will engage in a conversation about the situation at UNC. Keyboard warriors.

Actually you are correct with regards to some RU fans being obsessive. For some reason or the other some obsess over Penn State, ND, and I guess UNC because of the academic fraud. Why? No idea. While most of the fans on scarletnation are level headed there is a crowd that feel RU is elite program in CFB. For those who bash the state that is just ignorance. NJ has many great neighborhoods/towns and some great beaches. You can't go by television shows to judge the whole state. I now live in Atlanta and people do the same stereotype here, but it's usually folks who have never even visited the city.

If you actually live IN Atlanta (within city limits), then you're pretty much still in the Northeast. All Atlanta is is a hodgepodge of Northeasterners and Midwesterners (Ohio/Michigan/Wisconsin).

So much about Atlanta sucks. I'm glad I at least live in a far out suburb that's held on to some of its Southern history.
blackeye.r191677.gif

Is it true that Gary Nova talked trash about UNC when the game was announced? Something about he would get 5-600 yards against us, pretty easily?

Guys, protip:

If you create a topic arguing that another team's message board and fan base are trash, it's probably a good idea to not put posts in it that make you out to look like raging a-holes.

Just saying.

Yea don't really care about southern history... Or northern either. 99% of northerners don't care either.

Which is why the North sucks. And why big Southern cities are increasingly starting to show signs of sucking.

yeeeeah, nice try, but there's nothing in this thread that's even remotely as offensive or kneejerk as the stuff going on on the Rutgers board.

Look, you presumably went to UNC so I assume you're not an idiot (unless you played for John Bunting or Butch Davis, in which case all bets are off). So I know you know that your comment doesn't address the claim I was making. Let me explain:
I was not arguing that ScarletNation doesn't have a-hole posters. Believe me, I know that ScarletNation has more than its share of a-hole posters.I wasn't arguing that every post in this thread is a terrible one -- for example, I liked Raising Heel's post pointing out some of the sillier things from the SN threadI was referring to posts like the ones that state:"They're from NJ though, so I'm not surprised their board is trash", from the guy who seems to have a Carolina-blue version of the Confederate Flag as his avatar"For those of you who have never driven through NJ, were you aware that you are not allowed to pump your own gas at the gas station? You have to use full service everywhere. That's so all these Rutgers graduates can have jobs.

It's the biggest joke of a school and program in the entire NE, and that's no small statement," from UNC71-00, who apparently is unaware that Rutgers has more alumni working at Goldman Sachs than any other state university, or that Rutgers is 12th on the list of degrees earned by Fortune-500 CEOs, or that Rutgers ranks far higher than UNC on Payscale.com's ranking of State Schools by mid-career salary (btw, UNC trails far behind NC State on that list), or..."Also, I spent a night at Rutgers' campus once. Easily one of the most depressing places I've ever been. Not exaggerating," again from your resident Confederacy Apologist"There are jokes upon jokes about New Jersey. I've discovered them all to be true. That place is a butthole. The people there are hemorrhoids," from gunslingerdick, living up to his screen name"That alone is sufficient to accept Rutgers as the Most Loathsome Fan Base in the Northeast," from woadblue, who's apparently never met a Syracuse or Penn State fan"Those losers talk about UNC as much as the wolpfies do. It is amazing, in a psychopathic sort of way. They are obsessed, clueless, but obsessed," from UNC Blue"Rutgers University has a nice campus, but it's grads make me throw up in my mouth on a daily basis," from Baby DeboSo, I mean, if you'd like to argue that these quotes don't make the people who wrote them sound like a-holes (the premise of my post), feel free to give it your best shot.

And, since you guys seem to be unceasingly condescending towards NC State fans, you should realize that one of the only posts in this thread that isn't prickish came from a Wolfpack fan.

^^ LOLOLOLOL.

So many errors, I'm not sure where to begin. You think my avatar is a version of the Confederate flag. Hilarious. It's a version of St. Andrew's Cross, the national flag of Scotland. North Carolina's history and people are full of Scottish influence. But what do I know? I'm just the resident Confederacy apologist

TarHeelNation11: That was my second guess, actually! It was the whole "South is awesome and Northerners suck" stuff that you were writing that had me guessing Confederacy. My sincere apologies for the mixup.

But yeah, if you're rocking the Scottish flag in the avatar I'm all for it! What were your thoughts on the independence vote? It would've been interesting to see if Scotland could make a go of it as an independent nation, but I think in the end a united Britain plus additional sovereignty and self-rule for Glasgow was the best outcome.

as an RU fan that actually lives in the asbury/belmar area .. you are so correct.. and i thank you for telling everyone how it is for us locals

as for the game.. obviously i'm picking RU in my pick 'em.. yet, it could go either way and my best buddy, who lives much closer to campus than i, is a tarheel fan primarily and RU second.. we've done some "trash talking" about who sucks more
3dgrin.r191677.gif
.. not kidding either

I not sure that bragging about employees at GS is a positive. They are possibly the most corrupt and crooked company in the history of the U.S. and screwed the U.S. taxpayers out of billions of $'s. You are quoting payscale.com which is Bachelor's degrees only. really? Why don't you try Kiplinger's??

I don't normally post on on other sites but read this:

"For those of you who have never driven through NJ, were you aware that you are not allowed to pump your own gas at the gas station? You have to use full service everywhere. That's so all these Rutgers graduates can have jobs.

It's the biggest joke of a school and program in the entire NE, and that's no small statement."

I needed to post this:

U.S. News & World Report: [/I]Schools Producing the Most Fortune 500 CEOs[/B]
# 10 in the nation, with 11 graduates

Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, Academic Ranking of World Universities[/B]
# 52 in the world
# 34 in the nation

Center for World University Rankings (Saudi Arabia[/B])# 33 in the world
# 24 in the nation

Wall Street Journal [/I][/B]
# 21 in the nation, corporate recruiter pick for best graduates
# 3 among nation's undergraduate business programs, corporate recruiter pick for best graduates
# 8 in the nation, Executive MBA, Rutgers Business School-Newark and New Brunswick, Return on Investment
# 21 in the world, Executive MBA, Rutgers Business School-Newark and New Brunswick, World's Best Executive MBA Programs
Just because people really don't want to know the facts.

UNC top public university in the nation by Kiplingers and not from some Saudi or Chicom (wow that was really reaching) source. Reputation? Most people don't know what Rutgers is , not to mention where it is. So go back to your own boards and I seriously doubt any UNC fans will be waiting for you there!

After reading this thread I have come to the conclusion that the gentlemen from Rutgers are correct. It is a better University and New Jersey is a better state.

Now that we have settled that, would you quit moving to North Carolina and sending your sons and daughters to UNC? Please and Thank you.

Wow this has to be a first for me, bot how can anyone in their right mind compare Rutgers to UNC academically?
