The Black Falcon............ Grounded

I think it cements him as a legitimate choice for best player in NBA history.

Puhh-lease. The "best player in NBA history" shouldn't have a 3-4 record in the NBA Finals. That's right, under .500 in the NBA Finals. When all is said in done, Lebron will IMO be maybe the 2nd or 3rd best player in NBA history. People putting him over MJ are laughable in my opinion. 3 rings to The GOAT's 6 is no comparison, and Jordan also played in arguably the best years of the NBA and never even had a Final's series go to game 7. Think of all the highlights that Jordan had that will live forever. Lebron's block is his first, I can't think of another one of his highlights that they have (or will) show over and over again for years to come

I know this (and a Bulls forum) are the last places anyone would think somebody was better than MJ, but I think an argument could be made. People will still have their favorites and that's cool but I think it's a lot closer now than MJ lovers would care to admit.

Personally it doesn't mean much to me. I've seen both play in their primes and both were/are awesome.

While you're certainly entitled to your opinion CC, I think most NBA fans over the last 40 years would agree that Bron has a ways to go to be considered the G.O.A.T.. I think he'll eventually be considered one of the very best ever, but has more to prove to be in the discussion for the best of all time.

Agree. Personally, I think it's very hard for him to get to Jordan's level b/c he's just not as effective as Jordan as a scorer in late game situations -- largely b/c his jumper is more erratic in pressure situations. With that said, to make this even a real conversation, Lebron has to keep playing at this (or close to this) level for another 3-4 years and add a championship or two. If he does that, I think it's then a reasonable conversation -- even if I'd probably be predisposed towards Jordan either way. At this point, it appears that the championships are really the only statistically significant advantage that Jordan will end up having over Lebron. By almost every other metric, Lebron's right there. Lebron's going to finish with about as many points, and more rebounds / assists for his career. Lebron's overall WAR is slightly better. Lebron will likely end his career as the #1 postseason scorer, and the #2 postseason assist guy after only Magic. In other words, there will be statistical metrics that can justify an argument for Lebron if he can keep winning at the same level. I just doubt that will happen b/c I don't see Lebron's game aging particularly well as he loses athleticism.

Yeah aah555, I know Bron fans are walking around with woodies right now but the gushing is getting a little old already. I guess we'd better get used to it.

That block that Labron made when the game was tied at 89-89 will go down in history as one of the best plays ever. It was Labron's "Ali" moment and will cement him as the second best player in NBA history after Jordan.

Don't forget about the time Bron cramped up. The "Block" and the "Cramp" :)

I’ve never understood this argument. Sure he might have more than Jordan once he retires, but he had a three year head start on him. Barring injury, there is no reason he shouldn’t finish with more. It also works in his favor that Jordan “retired” in his prime to play baseball. Jordan would have won eight in a row if he would have stayed with basketball.
