Thought this deserved its own thread.. The Falcon responded as I thought he would after the poor Finals performance.

I especially like the part ............." I am in the gym everyday" ...hopefully he is shooting loads of jumpers as well

Reading between the lines and it's pure speculation on my part..BUT it seems he is not gonna be with GS next season.. he talks about it in the PAST tense.

He is gonna make a LOT of cash wherever he goes. Love the falcon

It looks like the finals have made the GS owner want Durant real bad. He is their #1 priority. Barnes will be elsewhere.

Hope I am wrong, but I don't think he is ever gonna "be that guy". I think we have seen about what he will do at the NBA level. Again, truly hope I am wrong.

Durant is everybody's priority well other than cavs and Lebron is going no where else.

I have stated in the past that I didn't think Barnes would get a max contract. I am completely retracting that statement. I just found out that Timothy Mozgov is getting 16 million a year from the Lakers and that Chandler Parsons will be getting a max contract. Barnes may not get it from GSW but someone will offer. The $'s they are throwing around are insane.

It's not really Barnes' choice. Golden State can match any offer Barnes gets since he's a restricted FA.

My guess is Durant re-signs with the Thunder. The 76ers offer Barnes a max (around 22.5 mil/year) and the Warriors match that offer. Prediction: Barnes plays for the Warriors next year and is the team's highest paid player by far.

He's 100% going to get the max.

Along with the new money and the raised salary cap, remember that teams need to spend 90% of the salary money because there is a floor you need to reach. There simply aren't enough players to sign. Teams like the 76ers are like 45 million just to get to the floor.

Would be extremely surprised if Barnes didn't get maxed. These teams not only have money to spend... They absolutely have to spend the money by NBA rules.

I didn't see it mentioned elsewhere on this board, maybe I missed it. Barnes will be getting paid more (strict team salary, not endorsements) than Steph Curry next year. Is that true? I know Steph's colossal payday is coming down the road, but that fact is just crazy.

I heard on PTI last night, some guy nobody has ever heard of, who averages 4 points and 3 rebounds a game, getting over $10 million a year. Insane. Seems like a lot of D-leaguers could average better numbers than that if they got enough floor time in the NBA.
