"The Hidden History of Trump’s First Trip to Moscow"

Trumps first tweet of the day (as Commander in Chief) about 4:00 o'clock in the morning, was about Ball not thanking him and about Ball's haircut

Why are CNN and the major news outlets giving LaVar Ball a platform to be a complete blowhard? That interview with Cuomo was cringeworthy.

Are people actually entertained by Ball's antics? I find it annoying. Even though he comes off as a moron, he clearly has a knack for business/promoting because he's found a way to act like a complete buffoon, and still gain publicity for his brand.

The point is Trump should have more important things on his mind, but he don't.....

No, he don't. But @Hark_The_Sound_2010 makes a good point...why does the media pay any attention to LaVar Ball? In this instance, they're doing it because they know Trump will react to it and they can paint him as the idiot President that has his mind on trivial shit instead of meaningful shit. Granted, Trump makes it easy to hate on him but still...

Does it not bother you that we have someone running the country who is so easy to rattle? It scares the hell out of me.

Meh, maybe a little. But Obama bothered me. Dubya bothered me. Clinton bothered me. Bush 41 bothered me. All for different reasons but they all bothered me nonetheless. I'm used to it.

Face it Gun, this guy is in a league of his own.....

I wouldn't be surprised if every member of the DNC has had orgies with handicapped children.

Don't take this as an allegation... I'm just saying I wouldn't be stunned.

They just instantly deflected to Lavar Ball as if a random citizen being an idiot is the real issue. We're wasting our time here. Everyone who was going to turn on Trump already has. Its pretty much just the cult members left at this point. Or people who claim they aren't really defending him and yet they refuse to glean a single criticism of him from any story. Everything is either a media plot to set him up, or you're a "liberal crybaby" for pointing out the fact that he can't put together an intelligible sentence.

He's definitely in a league of his own in his public relations. But I could make the argument that any of the others were more corrupt but they just dressed it up better. You seem overly sensitive to the parts you can see. I understand that, I guess. He certainly has changed the way I look at the Office of The Presidency.

What are you going to do when all those that have turned on him vote him back into office in 3 years? You will seriously lose your shit. I hope you're still poasting here then.

Does every member of the DNC have a collection of creepy photos of them inappropriately touching children like Trump has with his daughter?

He's publicly sexualized his own daughter multiple times. In addition to making sexual comments about teenage girls repeatedly.

By all means keep defending the guy though. He's obviously a true guiding light for moral decency...

Lol he got less votes than McCain did when he lost to Obama. Unless the DNC tries to run Hillary again, then he'll get his ass kicked in 2020. If Mueller doesn't take care of him before that...

I'm not defending him, as I've stated multiple times. And you're right - his morals are pretty damn disgraceful. Fortunately for him, you don't need good morals to be President.

he can't put together an intelligible sentence.

You're absolutely right, he's a bumbling buffoon. He has a mouth that writes checks that his intellect can't cash. But...

What are you going to do when all those that have turned on him vote him back into office in 3 years?

I will likely vote for him (if he even decides to run again, I certainly wouldn't want to have millions of people on my nuts literally every second of the day scouring for any slip up they could find when I could be enjoying my golden years with a pile of cash). Just because it'll continue to be as entertaining as anything I've ever seen. Including comments like:

Does it not bother you that we have someone running the country who is so easy to rattle? It scares the hell out of me.

Is he easy to rattle? Yes. Does that scare the hell out of me? No, although maybe after a few more MSNBC sessions I can get to that mindset. If his instability was going to be a huge threat to our national safety, don't you think something would have already happened in the past year?

The other part that confuses me is that you're perfectly willing to admit he's a moron, yet you dont want the media to report his stupidity. The media doesn't need to "ride his nuts" to find something stupid, his PR strategy is to flood the market with stupid so nobody can ever pin down a specific criticism. The list of stupid things he has done or said is already far too long to remember.

If you can't defend someone's basic moral integrity why would you vote for them?

Because I don't think having good morals is a necessary requisite of being President. I think policy/decision making trumps (punny) whether someone is a nice guy or not when it comes to qualifications for being President. If you want a bunch of Ghandis and Mother Theresa's as President that's fine.

Sure, report on his stupidity, but make it relevant. Just like Lyles said upthread how Trump should be focused on more important things - so should his opponents and the media. Should Trump be focused on more important things than whether LaVar Ball properly thanked him? Yes. Should the media be focused on more important things than a detailed week long analysis of whether the Trump inauguration or Obama inauguration was bigger? Absolutely.

If you want call him stupid over his immigration plan, or his tax plan, or some other policy - go for it, I'd welcome it. But making a national story over some "locker room talk" between a couple buddies isn't going to rile me up all that much.

No offense to Hark, but this post goes a long way in explaining why the country is in the shape it is.

So I've heard. Has he pushed through any orders that "keep them down" though?

None taken. But I'm not sure that the country as a whole agrees with me on that though. What's your opinion: are good morals or good policy initiatives more important for a President?

Doing what's right (morals) is important but you can have both in the same person believe it or not. We haven't had one lately but it's possible.

Agreed, having both would be ideal.

But more importantly back to my other question: Has he pushed through any orders that "keep them down" though?

If you can point out how he's keeping those marginalized groups in their place, with malicious intent, then we'll have something that we can crap on him about together. If all you've got is that he tweets at LaVar Ball before discussing an airplane crash, then I'm not really sure how he's keeping those groups "in their place"

Good point. Who wants benevolent, selfless people acting on behalf of 350 million people

Both of them were great people with great morals that everyone should strive to be more like in their everyday lives. I wouldn't say that would make them good at creating policy, or in the other facets that make up the job of President though. Or do you disagree?

People are going to claim that he supports white supremacy because he said "both groups are to blame" for the Charlottesville incident. They'll also claim that he's a xenophobe because he's not willing to let any and everybody into the country unchecked. They'll also claim he's a misogynist because he one time said something in private about grabbing a woman by the pu$$y.

A good example of what you are trying to say would be Jimmy Carter. The guy had good morals but was a failure at creating good policy.

Being "good at" creating policy is measured in many ways. Presidents aren't typically responsible for creating policy. They can make suggestions and act-out in ways that would ideally reflect a prosperous society. They're more like ambassadors- domestically and abroad. Presidents have an easy job- DON'T BE A DICKHEAD! I hate using such simple, vulgar language to sum it up, but that is pretty much their job. The president is a figurehead, the "face of the country." Donald Trump an asshole who revels in his ability to be an asshole. I honestly don't give a damn about his policies. The likelihood of a person like Donald Trump creating policies that I appreciate are slim to none. I base that on his life and his public identity- they suck. We already have plenty of selfish policies in place as it is.

I'll elect congress people and senators for policy changes. The power that the president has regarding policy changes is misplaced and needs to be changed.

Carter got no help at all from the legislative branch or his own party. Carter was a model human being. The office was beneath him. The American presidency has become the driver's seat for fvcking-over as many people as possible in 4 years. It's hardly a title I would ever want.

I agree on a lot of this. Honestly what I believe people like about Trump is that he is willing to be abrasive. It was a refreshing change for a lot of people. We were/are at a point where you can't say anything without getting branded an -ist of some sort, even if it's based in fact. Would it be better if he didn't joke about sexual harassment, didn't get into a pissing match with LaVar Ball, etc. Of course.

Good point. Who wants benevolent, selfless people acting on behalf of 350 million people. A self-obsessed, greed-driven attention whore is always a better choice for that role.

Funny enough, neither of those examples were actually benevolent selfless people.

Gandhi let his own wife die in a jail cell because he refused to allow her to be treated with modern medicine, then accepted the same treatment when he contracted the illness himself.

Mother Theresa was a charlatan who courted the rich, including the Duvalier family and Charles Keating. Her "charities" didn't provide any kind of healthcare to the sick poor she claimed to help, they simply piled them onto cots as closely together as possible and encouraged them to read scripture.

Who makes your list?

I just use those people because he had put them in his quote based upon their legacy. Or what I knew their legacy to be.

EXACTLY. he may be "easy to hate" but if the next 3 years go as this first had gone, Trump will walk the dog again.

It's fun and popular to make fun of him, but when the time comes most Repubs and intelligent Moderates will look at the economy, jobs, crime, immigration control and the many other things that TRULY matter and quietly support him again. Very few people vote based on personality - that stuff didn't matter in 2016 and won't matter going forward.

No offense to Hark, but this post goes a long way in explaining why the country is in the shape it is.

Yep exactly!! we're in FAR better shape than any of the 8 prior years. Check your personal emotions at the door, stop listening to snowflake losers on Facebook and look at the national stats on things that matter. We're moving in the direction that HIS supported wanted. That's all we care about.

He got elected bc he's TRUMP ...and he'll get re-elected bc he's TRUMP. That includes the good, bad and ugly of him, but we know who he is and that matters.

the Left has no one that can match his popularity in a national electorate. If a frickin CLINTON (Royal Democratic family) couldn't do it, they're screwed. He has and will continue to speak to the masses. Wait and see.

Who makes your list?

No I know, I was just pointing that out because I think its funny that those two examples are always brought up.

Nelson Mandela would probably make the list for me.
