The Masters

It's quite normal.

Tiger used to do that to everyone. Finau did an interview about the 2019 Masters and he said Tiger didn't say a word to him all day. Tiger used to start walking to his next shot the millisecond after his playing partner hit their shot so the guy saw Tiger 20 yards in front of him when looking to see where his ball landed. I want my athletes to be like this - not pussies like Bryson who get butthurt when someone won't talk to them.

I'm sure if Rory was paired with Rose they would have talked, they're boys. Rory and Bryson don't like each other and they're competing, why the hell would they be buddies on Sunday?

Not buddies. I don't just speak to buddies. I speak to basically anyone I'm in the presence of just out of common decency. He didn't have to "yuk it up" and they don't have 3 hour long conversations like middle school girls. It's just a bit odd that you're going to compete against a guy for the next 5 hours and not even a "hello", good luck handshake or a shared chuckle?

There are a lot of reasons to dislike McIlroy. I don't need to invent one here. I'm simply pointing to this as evidence of Rory being a douchebag.

Man, when did you get so soft?

You're also a bit off with the facts. They did shake hands on the 1st and Rory looked him in the eye and said something, it was on the broadcast. Maybe he said "fck off you overinflated pussy boy" but I'm gonna guess it was something like "hello" "good luck" etc..

Also, Bryson dodged the question when asked if he tried to initiate conversation. He said "oh he wouldn't talk to me." That's not a yes.

But back to my first point, who cares? When other athletes do this they're competitive but when Rory does it he's a douchebag? You're moving the goalposts because you don't like a guy.

I don't like the guy. I've made that clear. But there is no goalpost moving here. Did I celebrate someone else doing the same? You'll have to point me to that poast.

Yeah, looking at the clip, there are some leaps being made. I highly doubt that Rory failed to speak to him at all in the locker room, etc. before they played. They started, what, 2 strokes apart? Once they had the courtesies at the first tee box, I would accept that Rory didn't speak to him until after they were done the round and Rory was the winner. Don't feel like that's crazy uncommon. And Bryson is still LIV and there was a lot of things said in the past. It would be hard for me to play an entire round and not say anything. But then, I have a hard time ever not running my mouth.

I think this is probably accurate. The most telling thing though is this: would Rory have spoken to him after the round if he hadn't won? My guess is no. Didn't he slink off without saying a word after his U.S. Open meltdown?

You really don't like the guy, huh? Golf is really the one sport that it's ultimately got nothing to do with the other players. It's you against the course. It lends itself to that singular focus and mindset. Not sure what you expect him to do. So, they didn't speak while competing for the biggest prize in their sport (and the one victory that Rory needed to complete his quest for golf immortality)? Something worked. I'm just not sure why it's an issue.

They weren’t even paired together at the US Open.

He's an unlikable sort. He demonstrates it regularly. I'm a dick for pointing it out?

No. But Rory melted and didn't have the stones to congratulate Bryson. He bounced immediately. For the record, no one does that.
so based on that logic Bryson should have been the “bigger man” and hung around and congratulated Rory. Guess Aberg doesn’t have stones either. Didn’t see him hang around.

Nah, just don't see it that way, which is fine. And based upon the gallery/crowd reaction, I'm guessing it's not me who's in the minority on this one. We are good, just agreeing to disagree. I don't think Rory's gonna care about either of us and our feelings towards him, lol.

I rarely go with public opinion.

lol I don’t call out people for not talking to their competitors. Just found it interesting you only called out Rory but not others that do the same. We aren’t gonna agree on this. Rory won which makes it all a moot point anyway

No, we’re not. I know I’m right and you probably think you are. That’s great. We both walk away satisfied.
