Instead of replying to the many threads that are discussing this, I decided to start a separate one to address this so I only have to do this one.

Regarding Chazz Surratt and the QB situation, here is what happened:

Last Tuesday at practice, there was an incident in which Chazz was not making some quality throws an Coach Heckendorf got on him. Surratt, who was unable to move his right arm last Sunday and could barely move his left arm, snapped back that his arm was hurting, which is why he wasn't throwing the ball well.

There was a brief exchange and Heckendorf pulled him in put Harris in there. That day Surratt also fell ill and by Wednesday he had a 103 temperature and through yesterday was on multiple medications to deal with his illness.

There was no way he was going to play yesterday, but order should be restored this week as long as he is better physically and has worked out the problem that briefly ignited last Tuesday. My understanding is that everything should be fine, though the QB position is open for now.

As for Nathan Elliott and Logan Byrd, I can't say specifically why Elliott wasn't given a chance, Byrd spent a lot of time as the scout QB last week and may not have been prepared enough to play in the game.
