I'd add Donald Williams to that list; He really struggled his freshman year as a backup PG; Improved his handle and understanding of the system though and most off us know how he developed from there!
How do we know the freshman weren't doing that? Hubert seemed to say they were when asked in press conferences. I think it's more likely that they were frustrated about what they saw and lost confidence in the staff. If you don't trust that your coach can develop you, then why would you stay?
