I'm one of those complainers. But I agree with you that this was a really good game. Which, in my mind, just means it was an exception.I am amazed when people complain that soccer is boring because of the dearth of scoring.
The last 45 minutes of regulation and overtime in the Argentina/France final was sports at its most riveting.

Plus, relatively speaking, this was a high scoring game.
Here's another way to look at it...
Each side had one genuinely beautiful scoring sequence. In a basketball game you might have a dozen or more comparably beautiful scoring plays. Well, maybe not if Virginia is playing, but you know what I mean.
If only UNC football could have a few of those...Each team had multiple, beautiful defensive plays.
