THI Football Central: Minnesota

Pass blocking was good enough to allow Johnson to wait for a receiver and then to run for the 1st down.

TD on another run after pass protection breaks down. Johnson by being patient as a passer sets up those runs.

Time to focus on Play Action passing to TEs.

had no idea clyde was on staff…should be a great asset for these qb’s, he’s the goat.

damn, mack is hiring all the great position coaches now…hmmm.

The illegal block came because Boykin's just wanted to level som body. He needed to r4esisst that and just be in the way, thus preventing that player from making the tackle, like screen in basketball.

How did Nesbitt allow that? That little CB should have been easy to manhandle.

So we ran the ball down their throats and we abandoned that to get cute with an errand pass

Just hand the ball to Hampton and get the **** out of the way!
Have to pass sometime, ofr they will have 10 men in taboo all focused on Hampton,. The problem was your star TE simply cannot allow a CB 5 inches shorter to beat him for any ball. Either then TE catches it or knocks it down, while all making the little CB feel some pain.

When they start stopping it, it will be easier to pass it.

switch qb’s if you’re gonna do it…just to see what’s next.

it’s tied, there’s no desperation right now.

The stints/stunts have helped out DL be effective. Be interesting to see what adjustments happen at half. Hard to tell if physicality or play calling is what is making the difference.

Minnesota OL is definitely better than our DL and our OL. That is the most important difference in this game so far.

Big penalty by another poorly developed WR sets UNC way back, and then Gophers send the house and get the sack.
