This makes NC look like Alabama & Mississippi in 1963.

Well that's a racist article - assumes Blacks can't be bothered to get ID and that Blacks are the only ones that can't make time on Election Day to vote. Is that guy from NC? I'm assuming that's why you're saying it's making NC look like Alabama and Mississippi, and you're right. I'd be ashamed to be from the same state as someone who wrote blatantly racist stuff like that as well.

And... Black voter turnout is down from 2008 and 2012... you don't say!! Never would have guessed they'd be less enthusiastic about voting in this election compared to the previous two!

Good job. That's one of the best ways to bullshit yourself and pretend you're not defending the blatant deed. Or, maybe you agree with it. They've been pretty open about it, so, between this and HB2, it will have a huge impact on us. Don't forget, Charlie Scott came to UNC because they didn't treat him like a n*gger. Other future recruits, and students in geenral, are seeing this and thinking "Why would I wanna go to a school where they do that in the same state?"

HB2, where do we draw the line? Do we allow men who feel like women participate in women's college sports? Tell me where the line is? And as far as voting, make election day a national holiday and have one day of voting other than absentee ballots.

It's ironic that people who fear the bathrooms and locker rooms and dressing rooms are the same people who make excuses for a presidential candidate who has actually done what they're afraid will happen.

TG's are not doing this to get laid more easily. The "line" is an imaginary thing in your mind.

No hell it's not. No, I don't want a man in the restroom or locker room with my wife, 3 daughters or 4 granddaughters whether he is gay, straight or trans. Old fashioned, maybe I am and that's the way I will die. But mark it down, sooner or later a male will want to play women's sports and what is the answer? You can analyze and make up sh?t all you want. Have a separate bathroom for those that identify that way just don't expose MY GIRLS to it. Do you even have any kids?

That's all you had to say. That's all you actually HAVE to say the rest of your life. You're old and you'll stay old and rail at everything that is "new." Enjoy that.
I will enjoy the fact that I don't want men in the restroom with my girls. You still didn't answer the question about trans men and sports, but you never give straight answers. Maybe you should be a politician.

YO STRUM...don't you live in SC?

Then you don't have a say. Leave NC politics to the people of NC.

Worry about sand gnat races, or whatever y'all do for excitement down there.

(disclaimer: this is a joke)

I just choose to not try to be offended by every little thing that I can be. Apparently that's a novel concept these days.

And yes - I'm sure future recruits will flee from UNC because of the state's political stances, because they're all so wrapped up in politics.

Republicans don't want minorities to vote because voter suppression is obviously the Christian thing to do.

Are all Republicans Christians? Are all Christians Republicans?

I've got some black Christian friends that eagerly await your answer.

We don't need a line!!!! Allow people to be who they are and if there are criminals take care of them the same way you have taken care of them before. Do you know who is pitied AND feared the most now??? It's not TGs, homosexuals or minorities.... it is conservative white males!!!!

I succeed in not being offended by a lot of things. But, when I am, I am. Being offended is not what's at stake here.

You can tell yourself that people (especially younger generations) are not offended by what doesn't offend you, and you're going to find out that you are old and out-of-touch before you're 40. And, that's fine. You have that choice. You can be like all "conservatives" and long for the old days that are long gone.

So if conservative white males are the most pitied now... when will it become their turn to get absolutely whatever they want regardless of whether it's right or wrong or what it does to other people, just so we don't make them feel bad?

I think they've had that turn for about 240 years. They're not letting go of their turn very well. It's had to be wrestled from them for the last 100 years at least.

I am the younger generation. So I don't know the "old days". And I can't really long for what I don't know.

All I know is that the "let's get offended by anything we possibly can" phase, and the "let's make decisions based on feelings instead of logic" phase, have long overstayed their welcome.

They already had their day, sorry.

And those days were wrong, were they not? So why do we go so far in the opposite direction to try to make up for them? Slavery of Blacks in the 1800's and before was wrong... should they have had Blacks enslave Whites after the civil war just to make everyone all square?

I've always been of the belief that two wrongs don't make a right. Keep on going with your "eye for an eye" mantra though.

Well take it up with God then. He created us to be loving, emotional souls. He sent his Son to show us how to love one another and for some reason we can't seem to do it. Are we too stupid or too stubborn???

Those days were neither right nor wrong, they were just those days.

If you don't feel compelled to "make up for them", at least in some way, then you'll probably end up emulating them. Life is about balance, for me. What happened then can happen right now. We all have the same basic things as those people. So, I feel obligated to make sure I keep it where it feels balanced.

No, you're an exception to the younger generation.

And, that idea of making decisions based on logic rather than feelings is so subjective and also impossible. Separating thoughts (logic) from feelings is something each person is totally unique in how they achieve that. And, you can't measure it.
