What kinds of things do you fight about when it comes to eating? I'm talking what to buy at the grocery store, what to have for dinner, who's making it, how often you eat out (giggity), where you go when you eat out, etc.

While you're thinking about your about your answer, I'd like to remind you that one of the benefits of being single is that I eat whatever I want, whenever I want, whereever I want. Suck it, losers.

Seconded. Being able to do (and eat) what I want when I want is absolutely glorious. My life is beautiful.

Me and my girlfriend argue because I don’t make enough choices with regards to what/where we eat and instead defer to her. Then for a week or so I’ll make suggestions of what to eat and where to go, only for her to shoot them down and pick what she wants to make/go. Then I stop suggesting things for awhile until we argue about me not having input and the cycle begins anew.

Been married for almost 23 years. We have 2 boys, one in college, the other one headed to ECU in the fall. Both are a good 6 inches taller than us and outweigh me. Youngest is the athlete and up until last year he played football and baseball, also playing basketball with those his freshman year. Why tell you all of this?

Because we don't argue over food very often since there rarely is anything left here. If anything, we argue over why there isn't anything left. During football season my son ate non-stop. Since then he works out everyday, so it really hasn't stopped. In fairness to him, the kid didn't come off the field more than a few minutes and he started in every game this fall. He played WR, DB, punted and was kicking FG's at the beginning of the season, too. So, he burned through a LOT of calories. Workouts haven't been as strenuous, but he still eats everything he can get his hands on.

To give you an idea, his FRESHMAN year we left a basketball game and went to Chick-Fil-A. He ordered a 12 piece combo with large fries and drink along with a sandwich and large ice cream. When he finished all of that he polished off what was left of my wife's fries. When we got home he polished off a frozen pizza. This fall during football season, the grocery bill for the 3 of us was about $300 per week. We usually go through a case of Gatorade and water a week. He usually polishes off a bag of frozen chicken breasts each week, along with 3-4 boxes of cereal. He has also been known to polish off a half gallon of ice cream in a day.

Back to the topic at hand, my wife has some food allergies, so she is rather picky, but we are usually so tired by the time we get home from work that we don't have it in us to argue about where we will eat out when do go out. We have our favorite places, so we don't usually have to fight over where we will go anyway.

Wife does try to make meals at home at least 3 times a week and she always cooks something she thinks I will like.

Yes, being single has some advantages, but spending your life with the right woman does, too!

We all eat our own separate stuff. My wife makes a bunch of stuff on Sunday for her week and I grill Sunday evening for my week. My wife and I only eat the same stuff when we go out. The kids eat their own stuff as well. We got tired of making crap they asked for and the kids not eating it so told them to figure it out. So our grocery bill is kind of outrageous at times, lol. Still, it works for us.

We eat out at least 3-4 times a week. This includes Sunday lunch, and both Friday and Saturday night. Not many home cooked meals someone doesn't complain about at least one part. My moody teenage daughter being the biggest culprit.
My wife has a new quick pot that she is learning to cook with. I told her it was fine as long as she didn't allow it to become a crockpot style meal with everything mixed in to gather. Looking at my beautiful wife everyday negates any thing single life can offer.

You have no idea the tension that arises in my household over the topic of food. It's the constant struggle. It's ruining my brain. I wake up in the morning worrying about what we're going to have for dinner. My wife commutes everyday so she's of little help and it all falls on me. I don't mind doing most of the cooking. I just don't want to have to think it all up. In that light, I like to think of myself as the surgeon in the kitchen and my wife as the nurse. She prepares everything and gets it all laid out and ready for me and I come in, do the actual cooking and that's that. But it rarely works out like this.

And then when we don't have food in the house, it's "where do you wanna go eat tonight?" One kid says this place, the other kid hates that place. We mention mexican and the kids get all bent because they say we go there too much. Then we argue about until I don't feel like going anywhere anymore and we all have cereal for dinner.

We have an Instapot and Airfryer and both are pretty cool. She uses them a lot but she does use the Instapot to do crockpot type stuff.

What do you mean same stuff? Are you saying you eat at the same restaurant?

We often share a meal at a restaurant. We'll get some appetizers but then split the main course or whatever. If not, it is usually way too much food.

There is 6 of us under one roof. Me the wifey , and 20 yrs old son, and 18 yr , 15 yr , and 6 yr old daughters. Wife spends 250 to 300 a week on groceries and ask everyone is there anything you need or want from Walmart or Aldi .
We will get breakfast at Biscuitville on Sunday morning, and maybe a Bojangles family feast on sunday nite. Monday nite She will fix a really big pot of soup that a couple of us take for lunch 2 or 3 days . Tuesday she may cook us a burger and fries. Wed and thursday and friday you may have to fend for yourself. With the exception being the baby getting something prepared by mom. Saturday nite we may go out or she may fry you a burger.
18 yr old and 15 yr old girls are vegan , so I see them frying up rice a lot . Son is a surfing bum minus the surfing that is and he is like an old dog he will eat anything. I waste money for breakfast during the work week. I buy Oatmeal for a coworker and I and on the days I don't bring soup he will buy us lunch. I also have a Little Debbie addiction that I am trying to work on. As far as single life it may be great I don't know I have been married since I was a senior in college, been married Aug 3, will be 22 years and love having a big family. House full of kids makes for a great life. I don't mean to offend anyone but I tell my kids that we are here to serve our fellow man and to procreate. I love coming home to a big family I can walk in to most rooms of the house and talk to some one, or I can sit at the laptop just me and the dog and fool around on here while listening to james taylor.

My saint of a wife mostly takes care of the menu and grocery shopping, which is awesome. I do my share of the cooking and cleanup, though I will admit that Dad nights when she's working late are usually typical easy fare like chicken nuggets, mac & cheese, etc. I'm a passable cook but when there's like 30 minutes tops from the time we get home until they need to eat, and I have to keep half an eye on them during that time as well, I want something easy and quick.

We eat mostly at home and usually make enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day in order to minimize the frequency/cost of fast food lunches and eating out for dinner. So it's a treat when we do go out.

I, for one, eat WAY better, in terms of both taste and healthiness, as a married man than I would if left to my own devices.

And I've never had to go to a Carrabas.

Once we got past the Duke’s vs. Hellman’s mayo thing and I convinced her that neither shall be on a proper grilled cheese sandwich all was good.

If you are at least 25 yrs old there is a good chance I am your father !

A week ago you two was having a crazy debate throwing some hay makers at each other over Billy Graham and today your making a claim that you could be his dad!

Isn't the message board life great?

We put Miracle Whip or Blue Plate on grilled cheese sandwiches. Makes them really good IMO. I mean, it's a grilled cheese. It isn't like you are serving up Escargot or something.
