I love Ben Shapiro. No one smacks liberals around with as much class as Ben.
The prank was hilarious, and so were the fake articles they wrote. But Shapiro is a clown. I've never seen someone so obsessed with straw-manning people who disagree with him. I do enjoy watching Sam Harris beat him over the head with real logic though.
I'm impressed by his commitment to sporting the yarmulke.
And, I have heard some of the debates between him and Sam Harris, @uncboy10 ... He holds his own until he tries to leverage his opinions with Yahweh. It's difficult to successfully argue a topic that isn't religious with a religious conviction. It's like trying to play poker with someone and you're using Old Maid cards.

I was listening to a podcast with him about meditation last night and it actually reminded me of your thoughts on oneness. From what he was describing it sounded like you’d make a great Buddhist guru
From the "spiritual" perspective, it makes the most sense to me. It doesn't judge, punish or reward. It doesn't lack anything, so it needs nothing. That's divinity from my experience.
I don't get this, because he's constantly stated that he doesn't argue from authority. I've never seen him use Judaism to argue his point.
Where? I've watched almost every interview with him on Youtube, and I've never seen it. He'll talk about his faith, but he doesn't use it in an argument.
He also likes to use "Judeo-Christian" a lot. I find that to be a deliberate attempt to alienate the 3rd Abrahamic religion- Islam. He likes to pander to Christians by using that term. It assists him in pushing his social/political views because he knows that Judaism is a minority in the USA. Islam includes all of the same figures as Judaism and Christianity... except for Mohammed.
I'm not talking about interviews. I'm talking about debates. Shapiro bases his world view on the absolute belief that Judaism is the superior religious interpretation. That's an impediment, in my opinion. It;s similar to believing that "America is the greatest country." It's not a contest.
This is a religious debate. So, it's not an example of what I referred to earlier. But, it gives you some perspective.
Shapiro is definitely an intelligent person, no doubt. He has very little humility.
Well, he's definitely going to use religion in an argument about religion, but I never see it in his political debates. In fact, he constantly says that he doesn't do it because that's an argument from authority.

He's willing to debate anything, but if all the left is going to do is make pathetic arguments, then that isn't his fault.
People like Sam Harris expose him every time they debate. He spends most of his time on YouTube “DESTROYING dumb libz” not debating.
Trapping is the only debate tactic he even knows. When he debates people that don’t let him set them up, he rarely does well. I wish Christopher Hitchens was still around to debate Shapiro. Hitchens was a true master of debate.
It’s not surprising when you find out someone is a Shapiro fan. 100% of the time it’s somebody who has a habit of misrepresenting the political views of others.
Did Sam Harris debate him on politics or religion, because the one clip in this thread is a religious one? It's hard to say someone was exposed during a religious argument because that's completely subjective. I do know that Shapiro worked Cenk Uygur over in their debate. I would welcome watching a political debate between Ben and anyone else.
Plus, Shapiro just doesn't hammer stupid college kids. He goes to panels with the leftist "experts", and he works them over too.
Working Cenk Uygur over is hardly a challenge. I've watched a few TYT vidoes where he has panelists on there who share his views, and they school him. That dude is one of the aforementioned "low-hanging fruits."
It really doesn't matter. Shapiro just argues straight facts, and nobody on the left can stand up to it, because they argue on feelings and not facts.

Do you ever watch his videos? I don't care about the religious fights as I'm an agnostic. Show me a political video where Shapiro gets his ass handed to him.
That's another reason I like Shapiro. He calls out the stupidity of the right as well.

Sam Harris is the perfect counter example to that. He’s a cognitive neuroscientist and philosopher that has extensively practiced now meditation. He has a far better grasp on and control of his emotions than Ben Shapiro does.
He comes of as a right-wing partisan from my experience.
Net Neutrality is one thing that I think he really gets totally wrong. Especially when he tries to equate the internet as being "pipes" and ISP's to the water company and the content of the internet is the water.
Net Neutrality is horrible. It's nothing more than an attempt to let the government regulate the internet.
Edit: Also, Shapiro is more of a libertarian, not a mainstream Republican.

That isn't a debate. It's just some guy picking out clips that he doesn't like and making comments about them. I'm sure Shapiro would welcome him on his show, especially if he disagrees with Ben. Do you have an actual debate where some back and forth takes place? I can make a Youtube video and opine on comments from others as well.
Mainstream Republican, as far as I see it, is the Mitch McConnells, Paul Ryans, John McCains, etc... of the world. They don't differ much from mainstream Democrats like the Clintons, Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, etc. That's just my opinion. The issue I have with the term "far right" is that people try to group the globalists, populists, and libertarians all into that term, when they are so different from each other. It's why I don't like calling Democrats "liberals". Most Democrats are authoritarian, and that's about as far away from a liberal as you can get.

He quite effectively demonstrated the stupidity of Ben Shapiro’s tactic of debating with himself then beating his own argument. That's a conclusion that I have made from all the videos I've watched of him debating people on the left. Someone on the left argues that a man should be designated a woman because that's how they "feel" inside. Ben reminds them that it has to do with chromosomes and not feelings.

99% of the clips of him “debating” are questions from students that clearly have zero formal debate experience.
I didn't say he was black. I asked if you thought he was the emporer of black people. Maybe you missed the gist of his first few arguments, but they were all about blacks and the civil rights issues.
