Despite having a top 3 class every year, dook hasn’t made the Final Four since 2015. Think about that. As a coach, Knight Lite is a shadow of his former self, while Roy just keeps on getting better.
I have learned from these many years of being a fan, games played in Nov and Dec are never true indicators of how good a team will be in feb and march. Early season, you see it every year, that amazing upset, that nobody team upsets this mega power and has every one scratching their heads. Teams are figuring out how to play together that early, smaller programs that see all their players play a full 4yrs and do so for the same coach, promise ya they are hard for a blue blood to deal with, most especially if that blue blood is 1&D orientated.
Just as true, early season, teams are trying to figure out lineup combinations and how players fit together, you will see a big time talented team but severe lacking in experience use that big time talent like duke did to Ky but it means nothing because it will not be nearly the same game in fed or mar when teams have figured their combinations out and they have learned to play together as a unit. Telling ya, those big time dec upsets are usually fools gold, do it in jan and feb and I will listen to ya in march.
November and December are when Roy puts on the Mad Genius hat and frustrates many peeps with his constant tinkering and playing our entire bench! I love this time because I know it always pays off by conference play! I love watching waves of peeps come in, play hard, enjoy each other, and prepare in case they are needed later. I bet puke wishes it had more than 6 peeps on its bench come conference play! I don't know how I feel about conference games so early, however. The good news is I know Roy will figure it out. I wonder if he will just continue his usual progression or will he adjust the lineup quicker than usual. That all being said.....

Hang it up guys. No chance we can hang with the K Clone! I hope he gets a lot of playing time (maybe 12 minutes per year) and the Tarheel faithful can tell him how much we like him.
