Today's Food Subject . . . Deviled Eggs

I mean, it kinda does. Let me rephrase as I can eat shrimp if it's part of a dish. I'm not just going to sit there and peel shrimp and eat it by the handful. In dishes like shrimp and grits and shrimp scampi, the shrimp is so seasoned, that all the fishy taste is masked.

I can tell though, if I get either of those meals and there's a generous amount of shrimp, after I eat like my 5th one, I start to feel "okay, better stop" and I kinda lose my appetite after that lol.
So it’s a psychosomatic deal? If you had a true food allergy, you’d break out or have another reaction with any amount of shrimp. For years my mom told people she was allergic to shrimp and shellfish until she recently owned up to just not liking them.

Have you ever had tuna? Crab legs? Lobster tail? Sushi?

So you don’t have seafood allergies .. you're just a puss?

Yes.

No, it's not an "allergen." I'm not going to die if I eat it. It makes me sick. What's so hard to understand? Lol. As in like it gives me most of the symptoms that Pepto Bismol markets itself as curing.

Also, yes, I don't like it.

Yes.

Do you have a limited amount of food you will eat? Like just chicken and steak? No veggies?

I have a buddy who won’t use condiments, rarely eats any meat but chicken, no veggies, and def no seafood.

I get it. There are some foods I just don’t like. Can’t make myself eat cooked carrots unless I have to. I don’t get physically ill, just don’t like them. I can eat raw carrots all day long, but cooked carrots are slimy s s not appealing to me at all.

Now that's a shame.

Not really. I just drink other stuff now!

I still enjoy a whiskey sour once in a blue moon and I have a friend who had me try a fine scotch once that didn’t make me gag. I can’t say I really “liked” it, but it wasn’t bad. When I am under the weather, I have found Jim Beam apple with lemon juice and honey really “helps” cure it. But otherwise I can’t drink it. Well, at least not like I used to!

It's definitely not that bad for me, thankfully, but sometimes the smell of certain seafood can make me gag. If I'm with a group and we are at a nice restaurant that specializes in seafood, I'll just suck it up and order something and eat enough of it to seem polite.
If the seafood is stinking the restaurant up, it's not very fresh seafood.

Nope, besides seafood I eat just about everything. I love me some food lol.
I'm exactly the same way. I will eat pretty much anything but seafood (and eggs that aren't scrambled). Fish does the same thing to me. I'll eat some, and then I'll just feel completely nauseous afterwards. I can go to a bar or something and eat some fish and chips, but I really have to take it easy. Can't do shrimp at all. Hate the crap.

I would hate not being able to eat seafood. I can consume sushi and sushimi in superhuman quantities. Same for fried shrimp, or any kind of scallops. Oh and white meat fish. Or red meat fish. Okay I just think all seafood is awesome... I should be fat.

BTW, you'll be happy to know I'm on a big Arnold Palmer kick lately

Love me some sushi!

Ahi Tuna grilled to a medium rare (tops) with wasabi and soy is pretty dang tasty.

Absolute best salmon I have ever eaten was fresh from Alaska. Friend of mine got some shipped from her dad who live on the Kenai peninsula. He and some friends fished a favorite spot of his, caught about 4-5 coolers full, took them to the processing plant across the bay and has some filleted and sliced into steaks. They vacuum sealed it, packed it on dry ice and sent it overnight via fedex to us in Savannah. Caught on Thursday morning and received Friday afternoon all the way across the country. Never had salmon that good anywhere else. Well, I did have some in Portland that came pretty close.

Me and some friends pitched in one time and did a "family" sushi night. Several pounds of fresh alaskan salmon and some other fish packed that same way. We just sliced most of it up into sashimi, but also made about 50 different rolls with the fish we ordered. That was an awesome party

Oh, and I LOVE deviled eggs. I make really good deviled eggs. My only mistake evah in making deviled eggs was volunteering to make them for a church lunch. 200 deviled egg halves. It was a pain.

Any of you guys make it to an OOTB tailgate and we'll fix you up with some awesome deviled eggs.
I can verify this.

No no, I get it. He's the girl. And you're the girl. Sometimes you're both the girl. Right? Right?! That's hot. But you know, whatever works for you, I'm not gonna judge it.

Dude this is probably not the place for your weird fantasies...

You gotta love OOTB. A thread started to discuss the merits of deviled eggs turns into a discussion on the "criminally underrated" movie Eurotrip - which yes, I find funny but usually don't admit to having watched it.
