Trump, trade and tariffs

I admittedly am not completely informed on the pros and cons of trade deficits. However it does seem to me that this message resonates with a lot of people across the political spectrum.

I realize that tarrifs cause us to have to pay more for goods and services, but if that increase is minimal, then I have not much of a gripe with paying more for American made products. I also go to smaller local businesses for the same reason- I'm tribal like that. I also realize that getting other people to hold our debt is not necessarily bad either.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

This is exactly why the election of Trump was a huge blow to the Globalist elite. They (the globalists) screwed the common man with crappy trade policies, unbalanced tariffs against the US, and allowed illegal trade practices. All so the globalist could line their pockets with the benefits with little regard to negative consequences on everybody else.

Globalist elites? You mean like those billionaires who will do anything to line their pockets while shafting contractors and exploiting bankruptcy laws?
