First, I think I may have greatly under estimated Claude, I liked what I saw from him in our Blue/white game. But I have now seen a LOT more than I expected from James Brown, Brown looks to me like he could actually help us in spot duty lower minutes. Could this make us 11 deep in serious players this season? Claude has a strong motor but he plays a LOT more physical that I expected and physical play is something we need in our front court.I'm glad they worked out his issues. He seems like a fine young man and the perfect fit for the Tar Heels! I see a 10 deep team now that can come at you in waves, is tough, gritty, and skilled. I expect to see liberal substitutions with very little drop off. It will be demoralizing for peeps when the next man up brings the same intensity and effectiveness as the peeps in front of him!
Congrats Family!
Yeah, I didn't comment when I got wind of his issues because these things usually get blown out of proportion by certain posters jumping to conclusions. As I later posted, it came down to the bureaucratic complications from being a last-minute transfer with several previous stops, and thus the late waiver, etc, etc...First, I think I may have greatly under estimated Claude, I liked what I saw from him in our Blue/white game. I just rewatched the Kansas/ Arkansas game from last week. K.J. Adams is an athletic freak! but has no range beyond a 8 ft floater. In a instance of Carolina going big, I can see Claude playing an Adams role with Carolina.Yeah, I didn't comment when I got wind of his issues because these things usually get blown out of proportion by certain posters jumping to conclusions. But now that we have him, he could prove to be a valuable piece and allow us more time going "big". The practice reports show him to be a "mean SOB" on the glass, which this crew can always use more of.
I watched Claude live last year in Athens when GaTech played UGA, and Claude was a beast in offensive recounding. Granted, he didn't convert sh**, but he will rebound. He's not a 5 per se, but can be an effective role-player.I just rewatched the Kansas/ Arkansas game from last week. K.J. Adams is an athletic freak! but has no range beyond a 8 ft floater. My first instinct was to think of Claude as strictly a 5, but an Adams role could work well alongside either Jwash or Lubin.
