ORLANDO --- No. 4 UCLA took a 6-0 lead in the fifth and never relented as the Bruins grabbed a series-clinching 12-4 win over No. 6 North Carolina Sunday at UCF's Jay Bergman Field. Kevin Kramer had four hits to lead the Bruins, who improved to 6-1 on the year. Carolina fell to 4-2 despite 11 more hits, including two each from Wood Myers and Brian Miller.

UCLA grabbed an early lead against Tar Heel freshman starter J.B. Bukauskas (1-1). The Bruins scored three times in the third and added three more in the fifth to chase the hard-throwing righty, who allowed eight hits but struck out five in his second career start.

The Tar Heels kept grinding against starter Cody Poteet (2-0), however, scoring twice in the fifth to chase the junior right-hander from the game. When Miller singled home Alex Raburn in the seventh against Grant Dyer, Carolina had pulled within three at 7-4.

But the Bruins added four more in the eighth and one more in the ninth against the UNC bullpen to put the game out of reach. Chris Keck drove in a game-high four runs on a day when six of the nine UCLA starters had at least one RBI.

Carolina right fielder Tyler Ramirez reached base in all five plate appearances Sunday, walking four times before a one-out single in the eighth.

The Tar Heels face a quick turnaround with a pair of midweek games in Chapel Hill Tuesday and Wednesday. UNC will host St. John's on Tuesday followed by a visit from Winthrop, with both games set for a 3 p.m. start.
