UConn women

Holy cow...they held Cincy to 5 points in the first half last night and 21 points for the whole game.

But here's my question: Would you want the Heels to dominate men's college ball like the UConn women do? Would you enjoy that? I'm not sure I would. Going into every season expecting to win the title? Just seems boring.

I'll take it but I would prefer our football program to be so dominant and vie for the national championship every year. Can you imagine trash-talking Alabama fans every year?

As a UNC fan I would love it. That being said, it would be horrible for the game of college basketball. I think one of the reasons women's college basketball hasn't gain more popularity is due to UConn's dominance. You don't want to watch if you already know what's going to happen.

I have a neighbor from Connecticut who is a big UConn fan. His hometown friend, who now works in the athletic department at Oklahoma, is getting married this summer up in Connecticut and my neighbor is one of the groomsmen. He's been talking about it for months, looking forward to meeting Geno Auriemma who is an invited guest. This past Saturday he told me no one will be allowed to go over to Geno's table and chat it up with him. I'm not sure if the future bride and groom made this rule out of respect for Geno or if it was done at Geno's request. Hopefully the former but possibly the latter.

I think it would be great. Winning is fun.

We had a volleyball team years ago that played in the local leagues around here. We all grew up playing and a few of us played on a sort of club team in college that traveled around so we were pretty good. I mean, we wouldn't beat a men's college team or anything but we could play. We just smashed everyone for about 5 straight years. It didn't make it suck. It was enjoyable to now and then win a tight match though. I won't deny that either.

I honestly think it would be boring if they keep just crushing teams like they are. You have nothing to cheer for after a while.
