Heels fans,

Bryn and I are having Butch Davis onto our podcast to help preview the Miami game and also answer some questions. We wanted to give everyone on here the opportunity to ask a question for him to answer, so reply! Bryn and I will choose a few of our favorites and include them in the show which will be released on Thursday, Nov. 12.

Thanks and Go Heels!

Not really a question, but ask him NOT to take the Miami job :( haha.

I would like to know what he thinks we could/need to do to get better at stopping the run, defensively...

Ask him if he was the guy paying for all the airplane banners flying over Sun Life Stadium:

I kid, I kid!

Might be interesting to hear him compare/contrast the culture of both programs: recruiting, game day experience, etc. Would also be cool to get his feelings on seeing a batch of seniors he recruited (Marquise Williams, Landon Turner, Shakeel Rashad, etc.) have so much success this year.

1- Would like Butch to comment on what he believes we can do at the point of attack to slow down the Canes' running game, since obviously we're not built to just whip people at the LOS in our front seven?

2- does he feel like we can "explosive play" the Canes when we have the ball, and how would he suggest we utilize our personnel to best accomplish that objective?

3- our OL vs. the Cane front 7....how does Butch see that from a personnel/advantage standpoint (this is key...Butch Davis to this day remains the best evaluator of football talent I've ever seen)?

I would like to hear his take on what Chizik has done to change the defense. Is it attitude, schemes, experience ...

I said preseason that one reason Chiz came to UNC was that there was enough personnel that we were going to improve on D even had we made no staff changes (shudder).

Normal maturity (Powell, Jones, Schoett, Shak, MJ, Miles, etc.), less attrition (lost 3 DTs in the 2 deep and Ellerbe 4 weeks before the opener in 2014), and some young talent in the wings (Crawford, Dinkins, Andre, Dalton, etc.) was going to make us some better anyway. Throw in the Chiz factor, and what he brings as a D Coord, and the dramatic improvement isn't as surprising to me. Still surprising, but not shocked.

Heard Lee Pace the other day on the DG show here in NC...He said the previous DC was the most negative guy he has ever been around in all his years of covering UNC football....
