the timing is good. if we take the ncaa to court for selective enforcement a judge/jury will be impressed by our full cooperation until it become clear we were not getting a fair outcome without a fight.

Please, Dear Lord God, let the Wuffies all be so angry at UNC that they demand to leave the ACC until they get their wish. That is a pretty damning memo. The NCAA is attempting to overstep their bounds and I think they know it won't end well for them if they do, especially now that we've finally thrown down the gauntlet. They can't afford to lose face by forcing a weak hand so IMO, they'll back down, and rightfully so. And much to the wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth by the ABC'ers out there.
Yep and it started with Penn State finally gathering their courage and telling the NCAA "listen, you went way outside your jurisdiction when you punished us," which they did. That really put the NCAA in its place, pulling them down from the power trip they were on because of the Penn State thing. They uses that situation as a platform to flex their muscles, and it ended up biting them. That is a pretty damning memo. The editor of that paper is an IC regular, I believe. I only mention that for the interest of full disclosure. It's still a good article. That was a very nice editorial in the Robesonian.
I agree. The NCAA has always been seen as being almost omnipotent, their purview very vaguely defined if defined at all. And because of that, they have handed out some of the most arbitrary decisions imaginable. The SEC has demonstrated that the way to handle them is to show no weakness, show solidarity and be firm in your stance at all times.Yep and it started with Penn State finally gathering their courage and telling the NCAA "listen, you went way outside your jurisdiction when you punished us," which they did.
