UNC v. Wake Forest Game Thread . . .

We don't have dependable go-to scoring bigs. I'm pleased with Meeks so far on the season but he's not that sort of player. That will make us less consistent than last year everything else being equal.

The refs tonight were really bad. That last foul called on Britt was pretty good defense. The Wake guard initiated the contact. Britt is entitled to that space. Not sure who the bald ref was but he seemed to be really bad.

Mike Eades, who no one cares for.

UNC was called for 16 fouls in the second half. Wake also attacked a bunch and we reached a lot. Now, Eades definitely got into the underdog, home court thing but he does that. UNC needs to do enough not to blow a 19 point lead. They had their chances to and did not.

We were awful at defending the pick and roll/ball screen! That's how we got a lot of fouls! I wish we would hedge harder on those and trap off of it sometimes!

Eades is not bald. What he is, is a terrible ref that hates UNC. I suspect he may be corrupt as well.

Yeah, he is who I meant though. I didn't even notice the bald comment. I don't know if he hates UNC but he isn't a good official.

I think he is the one who called the double foul. I missed the first half and am now rewatching it. I rewound the double foul to try and see what the deal was. There was nothing there at all. Neither guy really did anything. It hurt them more than us by a lot but it was just a weird, awful call.

Wake was in the bonus 5 minutes into the 2nd half. In a game where a ton of fouls are called, that's how you lose a 19 point lead. Plus they got red hot from downtown in the 2nd half. Last I heard, they had made 11 treys and were shooting almost 50% from behind the arc.

Give them credit, Manning has them trending upward. Eric said they were leading with 10 minutes to go in all 6 of their losses coming in. That includes UVA and Villanova, IIRC. They're a good young team.

I wasn't happy at losing a big lead but road wins in the ACC are going to be pure gold this year. Still think the RS champ will have 4 or more losses.

BTW, a shout out to Isaiah for making 2 huge FT's at the end right after Nate and Kenny had missed a couple.

A shout out to Kenny as well. He was 3 of 3 from the floor, including 2 of 2 from long distance. He had 12 points and 5 dimes in 25 minutes.

Of course, Kennedy carried us in this game. 18 and 11 in 33 minutes, probably a career high in minutes. And we needed every one of them with him, Luke, and Isaiah(I never saw a foul I didn't like) Hicks with 4 fouls, and Tony out with concussion like symptoms. Plain and simple, we don't win this game if Kennedy doesn't have a big game.
