Sloppy sloppy sloppy. Davidson started out doubling the post immediately and flustered Meeks and Hicks badly. 2nd string came in and gave a spark and JJ finally got going. Luke Maye came to play.
yes - with the ball never getting 10 inches over the rim. Needs to get more arc to give it a better chance.

officials seem to be taking a lot of posessions off tonight. They seem to make a lot of lazy calls of fouls, and let several turnovers go uncalled
Given the way we started, going into the locker room up 10 is pretty good. Looked sloppy at times, but defensive intensity picked up and really bothered Davidson. Lots of things to fix in the second half, but I think Roy benching the starters got their attention.
sorry to be negative but he's terrible. He has one good game then four bad ones. Defense is awful and he's the master of a bad pass. A senior that never got better. Stilman is a much more solid player without the downside. If there's one play that epitomizes Britt its when he gets the pass at the beginning of this game. He's so unaware of his court presence he's standing out of bounds. Only Britt.... I know y'all want positive comments but I had to vent. Apologies
I want to like Nate as much as anyone does - but tonight is supposed to be his night to step up. the Heels need him. Maybe he is just pressing but its hard to imagine him playing worse than he did in first half..... on both ends, but especially feeding the bigs, passing in general, and atrocious shooting.
Think at this point he Is what he is some good some frustrating
I noticed Meeks and Hicks are pretty quiet in the box score.
I think this type of team is more situated for Maye. They are smaller so his lack of height and athleticism doesn't hurt him as much and his more relative speed and drive should be more effective. It is concerning that Meeks and Hicks are not dominating on pure size alone though.
JJ looks like he is stroking from 3. I hope he is looking to drive also.
What about KW? he looks quiet in the box also.
Like I said early in the season maybe even preseason, I think has hit his ceiling and is what he is. He is a servicable backup but a high end starter doesn't seem to be in his cards unfotunately.
Q Thomas eventually progress late Jr year and his Sr year. Nate been the same player the last 3 years. The plays he make not even smart.
Well, Britt is better as an off guard but his size hurts him there. He has done a pretty job defending a great player this game though. It isn't always easy to kill yourself on that end and have a lot left on the other.
Dav's three bigs that are most prominent have 3, 2, and 2 fouls. I would guess Roy preaches feeding it low, and drawing more fouls and/or finishing strong inside. And if they continue to double a lot, only then kick out to JJ, KW, etc for open perimeter looks. That's what I'd say, anyway.
That, and just finding / rotating people to stay in Gibbs grill all game and wear him out. He seems to be about all they have.
JJ hasn't been driving much and Williams isnt attacking and not hunting for his shot.

I watch Dook play and see what they get away with and then I watch Carolina and see what's called on them. It's absolutely amazing. Officials doing everything possible to keep Davidson in the game
