Can the Heels run the string out and secure a #1 seed?

1 seed? Hell no lol. Realistically they'll be a 3 seed if they can finish the season out on a good note, such as going 12-6 in ACC and making the ACC championship. I'll hedge my bets and say they're a 4 seed come selection sunday.

Another quick turn around. Fortunately, it's a home game.

Go Heels!

If they win the rest of their games including the ACC tournament they will be #1 seed. They problaby will not win all those games, but "if they do", pencil in a #1 seed. They would have beaten Duke twice and Virginia in the ACC final. With a 27-7 record name 4 better teams at that juncture? Probably will not happen, but what would their seed be if they win them all?

That won't happen though that's my point. Obviously if they won out they would be a 1 seed - that's not even a question.

Not gonna be a #1, not a #2 either. I'm ok with that. We just need to keep winning the games we are supposed to and competing with those they trip us up and head into post season play with some confidence that we can play with anyone. Then let the chips fall where they may. I am concerned with the lack of big man development from the youngsters and it may well bite us down the road. Their are some very good teams this year with strong post play. But to think of 3 straight FF is awesome!!!! Go Heels!

Things haven't changed for me. I knew that our team was capable of playing at a high level. The guys just got complacent and I think some of the vets were just biding time until the postseason when they thought they could just turn it on. I can't really blame them for that, Joel and Theo (and Kenny and Luke to a lesser degree) have "been there, done that". But Roy needed to remind them that they can't just turn it on when they want and every game needed intensity and focus.

But we're still the same - capable of beating any team in the country on any given night and capable of losing to almost any team in the country on any given night. But I think the guys know it's now "winning time" and we might not drop another regular season game. If we were to win out, we'll be a 1 seed. But, by that same token, we could drop 2 or 3 of our final games if we're not focused and engaged. If that happens, I could see us around a 5-6 seed.

The safe bet is that we lose 1 more in the regular season, perform admirably in the ACCT and then wind up with a 3 seed in the NCAA.

I dare say, if this happens, we could possibly pull one of the last 2 seeds. Especially if Kansas drops several of it's last games they could certainly fall back to a 3 seed.

1 seed would be amazing but for me this year is all about the match ups, and who is in our bracket. I don't even care if they are a 4 seed. As long as we are in the right bracket. Just looked at ESPN they have UNC as a 3 seed with Xavier the 1 Auburn the 2 Ohio St the 4 and West Virginia the 5 seed. I would sign up for that right now and I would book a ticket to Texas!

Been a while since anyone went to three consecutive FF’s

I think UCLA was the last team to do so in the late 2000s.

Strong Defense and good ball movement have so much to do with UNC butting the ball in the basket. We have shown that we can do those things and I hope it continues through the rest of ACC play and into the post season. We are favored in all remaining regular season games excluding @ dook and I’m hoping we don’t lose more than one of them. I’m of the opinion that we could get a 2 seed but will likely get hosed by the NC double A-holes. Good guard play and defense can take teams far in the tourney and I’m hoping that’s what happens. If sterling and garrison can give us some good production while in the games I like our chances. Let’s start by getting this W tonight!

If that played out I'd say a 1 seed is likely .. actually think winning 4 of the last 5 and the ACCT gets a 1 as long as we beat UVA or dook at least one more time. ACC is strong as hell this year and finishing strong would go a long way towards erasing the memories of that terrible Wofford loss as well as some of the other games where the real UNC forgot to show up. And I don't know that I would be giving UVA a guarantee to the ACCT final and I wouldn't be too shocked if dook went out semi-final ACCT if not before .. they are quite beatable by a number of ACC teams. jmho

I will be interested to see if Brey let's his guys get up and down the court. I doubt it, I suspect he will run his "burn" offense even with Ferrell back. Similar to what he did in the elite 8 matchup 2 years ago. Defending the full 30 and limiting Ferrell looks late in the shot clock will be paramount.

The only way I see us securing a one seed is if we finished 2nd in the ACC regular season and won the ACC tournament in NY ( New York, give me a break for the ACC tournament)

Right back to doing the same dumb things. Matt Farrell couldn't finish in the lane if his life depended on it and we're helping when he drives leaving shooters wide open.
