WCU shot 61% from long distance in their win against AA&M last week(14-23). They are shooting 37% for the year, while the Heels are allowing a whopping 39% from downtown. It is one of our most glaring weaknesses, along with interior defense.
The only way the Catamounts can make it a game is to bomb away from outside and make a good percentage of them. Our 3-pt defense seems to always be a point of concern just about every year. In general, our perimeter defense is good but we help down too much and have too far to recover back out to our man.
I sure would like to see our long armed wings stay in contact with their man more. We have great quickness and length, there’s no reason we can’t defend the trey better.
