Bubba needs to make absolutely clear that this non-event by UNC Bball is not intended as a political statement, otherwise, the repercussions to our pro
ram (recruiting), etc will be devasting! I
They did make this perfectly clear.
"The team and Coach [Roy] Williams wanted to go, but we couldn't find a date that worked for everyone," North Carolina spokesman Steve Kirschner told ESPN on Saturday afternoon.Really? There are some already insinuating it's a political statement by UNC and RW, both known for their leftwarrd leaning!
Please let's not let UNC bball become a leftist perversion too!!!
UNC should alter it's very own schedule to get to the White House, just to show equality, solidarity!
Believe me, the left is going to make us look terrible for this. ... Please go to the White House!!!!
Maybe you should pull for dook. I believe The rat's political views are much more to your liking.Really? There are some already insinuating it's a political statement by UNC and RW, both known for their leftwarrd leaning!

Were the recruiting results devastating when we didn't go in 2005?Bubba needs to make absolutely clear that this non-event by UNC Bball is not intended as a political statement, otherwise, the repercussions to our pro

I'd be willing to bet that it's a lot of political preference. Dabo loves TrumpI present this purely as a comparative metric:
Clemson's football team is attending (already attended?) the Trump White House.
And, I realize politics shouldn't play a role in it.
It wasn't Dabo's decision. The team decided it. Team leader and future NFL star Christian Wilkins (he's black) spoke eloquently about why they decided to do it. They saw it as an honor, even though many on the team disagreed with the president's politics.I'd be willing to bet that it's a lot of political preference. Dabo loves Trump
Roy doesn't like Bush or Trump. What a shock. And, I realize politics shouldn't play a role in it. But, nowadays, politics is playing a role in everything.
He means well. He just has a much different social perspective than most people. Even most presidents, for that matter. You look at the presidents throughout recent times who have come from privilege... not many. Kennedy, Bush Jr., and Trump. I'd say Kennedy had the best ability to become "average guy." Dubya pretended to be average guy. Trump has no fvcking clue what that is, and he's been a celebrity most of his adult life. And, not a political celebrity either. I kinda feel for him once he leaves office. All of those sports and entertainment celebs that he used to love and buddy-up with won't want to have anything to do with him. He'll be like OJ... persona-non-grata in his old circles.Yeah, that ends to happen when the POTUS calls a group of athletes SOB's. The same dude that years ago said the president shouldn't tell NFL owners what to do. Weird, huh?
If Dabo had anything to do with it, they went. He loves Trump.Yeah, that ends to happen when the POTUS calls a group of athletes SOB's. The same dude that years ago said the president shouldn't tell NFL owners what to do. Weird, huh?
Hmmm, I wonder if that will have a negative impact on clemsons recruiting. If Dabo had anything to do with it, they went. He loves Trump.
I just told you the team decided. Don't let that fact get in the way of your cool argument though. If Dabo had anything to do with it, they went. He loves Trump.
Just no. Y'all all need to stop taking heelswin's poasts seriously. I'm kinda surprised.Hmmm, I wonder if that will have a negative impact on clemsons recruiting.

Hell no! Swinney has got his pick for perpetuity. Or, until Venables leaves.Hmmm, I wonder if that will have a negative impact on clemsons recruiting.

My opinion and my opinion only:
Roy Williams and the players should have tried harder to "find a date that works for everyone" and should've visited the White House. It's one day out of your lives. It reflects poorly on the university, and by extension, its alumni, when the team declines to attend. The optics of this look bad because Williams/UNC used the same reasoning not to attend the Bush White House in 2005, but were able to find the time to squeeze in a visit to the Obama White House in 2009. Some things are bigger than politics.
Others will disagree, and you're fine to do so. Go Heels
It started with Forrest Gump and Kennedy.I don't recall when all these White House visits started but It's just kinda played out to me. Personally I don't care if they go or not, no matter who the potus is.
Assume whatever you want. WRT UNC and the WH visit, I will just leave it at this: Whatever Roy and UNC think they can afford.I assume Roy cares more about what his players feel than a few fans who won't support the team because they need to feel good about some arbitrary stance they need to make to themselves. I'm thankful for that.

I love this guy!Smacks of politics by a left leaning institution and coach.
I love this guy!
No, man. I mean... I love YOU! I love that you're here sharing your opinions.Don't get me wrong .... I love me some Coach Roy and the Heels, even if they have a different slant than l. Dean did too but l dearly loved him, just not his politics!!!
Yeah.... that ain't Trump's fault. Its a shit show. We’re divided over statues and the anthem.
