Underrated 80s Songs

George Duke was an impressive musician.
I was different than most of my friends when it came to music in the 80's. I rarely listen to Top 40 music. I always leaned towards the R&B/rap back then. My 80's music was like this song. I listened to stuff like Atlantic Starr, Luther Vandross, James Ingram, Rick James...who I think is the most underrated and underappreciated artist of the 80's, Jeffrey Osborne, Midnight Starr, Kashif, Anita Baker, Full Force, NE. I knew some of the top 40 songs but didn't know them as much.

During the short time I was at UNC CH, this was probably the most-heard song out of my dorm room:
Man, I had a huge crush on Chaka Khan. Not really a crush but, she was hot. Chic can sing her ass off too. I saw her open for Prince around 2012 in Greensboro. Was somewhat disappointed because she only performed about 6 songs and left off several I love. She could still hit those high-ass notes.

He could have been another monster from Compton until his car accident. This CD was the shit! The song "Funky Enough" is the best on the CD.
I think GSD must have been listening to my radio in the 80s. I'm not sure I'll get much agreement on this one, but its stuck with me for 30+ years.
Saw them open for Billy Idol, late July 1987 at the old Charlotte Coliseum on Independence Blvd.

I love the 80s. As much or more than anyone. And I cannot agree with @uncfootball- statement. 60s and 70s both would be ahead for me.
