Here are some recent updates on top UNC recruiting targets:

LB Jaquan Yulee was offered by Alabama and Michigan recently. He had previously called UNC his favorite. It's not immediately clear how the Heels' position on his list might be affected by those events.

DT Jamari Logan, also of Virginia, tells THI he's got family in the Raleigh area that he's visited plenty of times, though he's never been to Chapel Hill. He's claiming a UNC offer and says that's a visit he will take.

Another Virginian and defensive tackle, Sulaiman Kamara, tells THI that UVa and Wake Forest are recruiting him hardest. Once a four-star prospect who has taken a ranking dip more recently, Kamara's still in touch with Littrell and isn't writing UNC off, but it seems like other schools are prioritizing him more.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines offensive lineman Solomon Kindley grew up a Florida fan and the Gators are already making him a priority. With more than a dozen offers, Kindley obviously likes McElwain's program. If a program can challenge Florida it might be UNC. Kindley knows the former Raines players at UNC and has a very high opinion of the Tar Heel program and coaching staff.

Rivals250 defensive back Craig Watts of Florida tells THI that North Carolina and Indiana are the two schools that first come to mind when he thinks about where he wants to visit. He's got a whole host of programs that are pursuing him but those two seem to be recruiting him the hardest. Watts had a top nine at one point but told us this week that a flood of new offers have caused him to open things back up. Have to think the Heels would make his short list, though.

Potomac (Md.) Bullis School linebacker Cameron Brown may just be a three-star prospect but he'll have a high four-star offer list by the time it's all said and done. He told me over the weekend that he plans to hit UNC, NC State and Wake Forest on the same swing through the state of North Carolina, probably sooner rather than later. Penn State, Notre Dame and Michigan State may be the three schools to go through if you want Brown right now.

I spoke with Tren'Davian Dixon, who recently decommitted from Baylor. He picked up a UNC offer shortly before decommitting. Read into that what you will, but also bear in mind that Texas offered him not long ago, too. He says he's not writing Baylor off but I bet he ends up elsewhere. UNC probably isn't at the top of his list but the longer he stays uncommitted, the better the chances are he at least visits.

Spoke with a source familiar with Jordan Duncan's recruitment and I'm told the four-star receiver from Hattiesburg, Miss., probably doesn't have UNC in the No. 1 spot on his list, but they also said if he goes through with that week-long trip to Chapel Hill it wouldn't shock them if he pulls a surprise. I still think UNC has some ground to make up on a couple of SEC schools, especially after Alabama offered. But UNC would probably be top four or five right now for him.

FWIW, still hearing UNC leads for Nick Coe and Kyree Campbell, four-star defensive linemen from N.C. and Va., respectively. I believe Coe is taking more of a "they're one of several leaders," approach, but off the record some think UNC is in great shape.

At receiver I believe Diondre Overton favors UNC as well. There's talk of NC State and Clemson, with good reason. Overton won't clearly put UNC above those two and I certainly wouldn't write either off. There's a long way to go. But I do think the Heels have some advantages here.

Four-star running back Robert Washington makes his decision next month. He's announcing his top six bit by bit via Twitter. UNC, Syracuse and TCU are the schools he's listed so far, so three spots remain. He has family ties to the Northeast, hence the Syracuse interest. He's spent a lot of time up that way.

Right now based on what I'm hearing I like UNC's chances with Chazz Surratt at quarterback. They would just take one this year and he's the preferred option. Depending on what he does, it might not matter who else Heck and Littrell evaluate. They could still look at Eddie Hahn as an athlete/DQB-athlete.

Recently I reported on Auburn, Ala., OG Tyler Pritchett, who will visit this spring. His comments could be interpreted as meaning UNC is at the top of his list. I don't know that it's that simple. I think the story here has yet to be written. He has already had a couple of different favorites and I think there are twists and turns ahead.
