Urban Liar?

Meyer's Florida program was filled with Aaron Hernandez types. A little shoving and smacking of coaches wives is surely a small price to pay to be able to cover up the transgressions of players and win it all.

Yeah, Urban left Florida supposedly because he had a dangerous heart condition, best I remember....He was in the booth for only 1 year before The Ohio State called, and somehow someway he had a complete turnaround with his health, and took the Buckeye job....Meyer is a phony, and always has been!

Probably shouldn't feel this way, but it did my heart good to see the smacking Clemson put on OSU/Meyer a couple of years ago in the playoffs.

After he stepped down at Florida, Meyer said something about the SEC being too willing to do anything to win. If you say and then later coach at Rice, you can be respected. If you say that and then go to Ohio St, you are the worst kind of hypocritical whore.

This mess has legs. If Meyer gets canned, it will be a cumulative firing. His past history has caught up and is ready to devour him.

My guess as to Meyer's replacement, should he be fired: Matt Campbell now at Iowa St. OH born. OH small college player. MAC HC. Wins at lowly ISU, and does so with no scandals that I know about. His reputation is clean.

If true, this goes beyond sports. I love the Heels, but if Roy was involved in this type of situation, I would be the first person to say he deserves to be fired.

The thing that keeps coming to mind for me is what does the former assistant have over Meyer for Meyer to be so loyal that he would hire him at Ohio State after knowing that he had already been smacking his wife around back in 2009 at Florida?

Of course, Urban wants everyone to believe that his wife knew of the abuse, and all the assistant coaches and their wives knew, but somehow or someway Urban didn't know what was going on?

Exactly. The sad part is that I wouldn't be at all surprised if he keeps his job.

The assistant is the grandson of Earle Bruce who Urban considered a 2nd father... Other than trying to save his reputation that’s all I know that would be reason why Meyer kept this under wraps

I hope so badly that his lying arse gets sacked, not only because I hate tOSU, but I'll also get some payback on a co-worker who's a fan of the luck-eyes, who gave me plenty of crap when the Heels were under NCAA investigation.

he’s done...s has followed him since florida.
If he gets axed now, it will be due to the MeToo movement finally getting to knock off a coach. Harvey Weinstein will be partly responsible.

Perhaps Miramax will make a movie called The Coach, a thinly veiled account of poor Urban forced by the demands of SEC boosters to allow criminal players and assistant coaches to run amuck. Of course, such a film would really be a call to stop hating poor Harvey Weinstein. He's suffered enough.

Has there been any sight of Gloria Alred at the Horseshoe yet?....She is generally seen front and center at most news conferences relating to the "Me Too" movement.....

Not a fan of osu at all nor meyer. But i dont see anything he did that justifies getting fired. He didnt commit or cover up any crime. He didnt violate any ncaa rules. What exactly did he do? Refuse to fire someone for an offense he was never proven to have committed or even arrested for? If you’re gonna say “for lying” well...lol...that wont hold up in court. Dont get me wrong, that receiver coach is a FPOS and this is a bad bad look for meyer. But osu is gonna have to buy him out to get rid of him.

That may be too much middle America for her delicate sensibilities to experience first hand, especially as she is feasting on Hollywood now.

Correct.

The simple fact is that if Urban had fired that guy without him being convicted as a molester, Urban and Florida would have been sued, and surely would have lost.

The abused wife failed time and again to press charges and take out a restraining order and testify against her abusive husband in court.

Did Urban know more about the abuse than he let on? Almost certainly. But he is neither the police nor a judge nor a jury nor a prosecuting attorney. He isn't even the father or brother of the battered spouse.

Domestic violence is considered a crime. If Urban found about it when it happened but never reported it, he covered up a crime, which would be a Title IX violation. Now, if your argument is that Shelley never told Urban about it, you're entitled to your opinion. I don't think many people will believe that, especially when Shelley said in a text that she would tell him.

And remember, Tressel got fired from the same school for lying about tattoos, cars and jewelry.

It’s worth noting that they are only allegations at this point. He deserves due process but none of that may matter from the university’s standpoint.

I agree, and that's why I say he deserves to be fired if the allegations are true.

He lied to the media what’s new happens all the time. He could’ve really handled this a lot easier by saying he wasn’t discussing it at this time.

Maybe he didn’t want to bother anybody over the weekend.
