Just watched them lose to Utah and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. What in the hell happened to USC? It was just 12 years ago that Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, and Co were wreaking havoc on everyone.

Why the heck can't the Trojans get a legit coach over there? College football is better when USC is good.

Thoughts?

They need to pay big bucks and steal a top name from the SEC. Maybe take Les Miles after those crazy LSU people fire him. I really think that they need a big time college coach, not some guy from the NFL.

I hate SC, and I dislike the Pac, though not as much as I hate the Big Ten. So I like seeing Trojans suck.

A great problem for SC is that now in CA college football is almost as much an after thought as it is in the northeast. There was no NFL in LA for a quarter century, and SC - with 35 K students - could average 75,000 only when led to the Top 3 by a top Heisman candidate. Nobody in LA cares more than a passing flip about college sports. UCLA no longer has anything close to a meaningful basketball fan base.

SC should have risked hiring Orgeron. At least he brought a spark to the locker room and practice field.

This. No big name coach wants to go to a place where there is little interest in college sports. Their best hope is to catch lighting in a bottle with a young coach or a hot coordinater. Maybe if they are lucky they can pull in a fired NFL coach.
