Vanderbilt & PJ's Decision?

Realizing how much stock the NBA puts in potential, I agree that Porter is very skilled but I wonder if he is closer to his ceiling or floor? If Porter is closer to his ceiling then potential seems to be less than a Ayton or a Bamba? Granted that potential is not always realized but the NBA does not always seem to realize that IMO.
I agree with that sentiment. GM's are so afraid to miss that next big thing that they take swings at those unfinished products.

For me, I think Porter's ceiling is a Grant Hill type. Not saying that he will be that good, but when discussing how close he is to his ceiling I think that's the type of player he could be. Regardless of where Hill went to college, no one can argue that he was a baaaddd man in the league before all of the injuries. If that's the ceiling we're looking at I'm not passing it up.

On the flip side of their ceiling, the floor on Porter is also extremely better. His "worst case scenario" isn't really that bad.

Absolutely agree that Grant Hill was special so ya get no argument from me on that point. I will as well agree that saying a kid needs to play with a little more alpha is easy to say but harder to get done, witness Kennedy Meeks. I consider alpha male or high motor to be additional talents that you are born with or not. Just suggesting that because I do not really know what if any level of alpha Ayton can step to that I can't discredit him in that area until I see more.

At this point IMO, I need to see how these guys react to college players. It is one thing for a Bamba to have a foot advantage over a high school kid but what about that seasoned college senior that has been in a big time weight program for 3 solid years? Can Carter bully college level front court guys, will Porter be as smooth, who knows. LOL
