Washington Knows the Deal, Took Steps Forward in South Bend

But still no jump shots from Jalen, why? He took them last season, why not now?

He had 4 turnovers, and at least 3 of our guards were credited with turnovers trying to pass him the ball.

I really thought he had better hands before this season.

It's an area he's acknowledged he must be strronger. But I think Hubert will live with some of that if JWash can give them some kind of defensive presence in the paint. It's a trade off he's willing to take.

From a mental standpoint, the best thing he can do is approach every touch in practice and games as "MY BALL", with the assumption that he ain't letting anyone get that rock away from him, even if there's no defender close. I used to have players with "bad hands" say that mantra out loud in drills, and then to themselves. Worked wonders.

The other thing JWash needs to work on is posting with his feet on balance (anticipating contact) and using his elbows as ball-shields.
