I asked it from the very onset of the topic? I thought everyone knew that? We definitely talked about it on this board before.
I was legitimately asking what changed for that to no longer be the case. But, you all are so intent to freak out when someone doesn't just nod their head and say okay that it is crazy.
If he preferred UNC now then why over UK? Why?

I'm sorry when did I nod and agree? I simply asked a question and made an observation. I wasn't trying to insinuate anything. It was a legit observation.
Gary is the Trump of this board. He isn't very tactful in some of the things he says, sometimes he is a bull in a china shop. And he will aggressively defend himself against attacks.
But he is unfairly being singled out by some on this board. If he says up, they say down. There seems to be a vendetta against him, one that he simply can't win due to overpowering numbers.
IMO, he contributes as much or more to this board as any other poster here. And while he doesn't always say it in the most palatable way, there are a few here who lurk to pounce on his every word. IMO, they are just as much at fault as he is for striking back.
I've only been posting for nine years. Perhaps there was a time when we could post diverse opinions without taking it personally, I don't know. But it seems things have become more personal and less intellectual than they used to be. It sure would be nice if we could return to the time when everything we read on a site was taken with a huge grain of salt and people made a personal decision to give credence to that post, or not, with no animosity.

In all seriousness, bud, why would I or anybody have asked that, no matter the length of the conversation? I got info from a good source and the words were Shaq's, so I have every reason to take that at face value, as opposed to something that may have shown up on some recruiting site sometime in the past.
Beyond that, I've got nothing against you, but you know as well as I do that question was argumentative.

Look, I have no issue with someone asking questions about whatever if I was making some sort of assertion or recruiting prediction or such --- hell, I would expect it --- , but throwing an unaswerable question at a static piece of information is like walking outside and asking the sky why it's raining. It just comes off as arguing with the info itself.
Above, you suggested how I should have responded to you, let me return the favor: "I read before that Shaq preferred UK or MSU. I wonder what changed his mind." And my response (if any) would have been something like "I have no idea" or "That wasn't mentioned".
Standing outside of this conflict, I would offer this much. Recruiting is a slippery slope, what a kid or his parents say, think, or feel today is subject to change as they look deeper. IDK how the time frame for what Shaq may have said on a pod cast matches up with the time line of what gary understood came from Shaq's own lips? I would guess 1 side of this is more current than the other and that maybe along the line Shaq's opinion changed, I don't know which is more accurate today.
That is just not true. You have attacked numerous people and their posts in the past simply because they disagree with you. They didn't attack. They just disagreed and you would become this condescending uber-sensitive know it all who thinks everyone should agree with. It's a shame because you know a little about the game. The thing is, other people do as well and something they may be correct about something you disagree with. Your inability to handle this (along with the sycophants) is what makes you so polarizing and why so many have stopped posting here. It is no great loss though because of that, which is a shame.

This post pretty much sums up in a nutshell why I and many others get combative with you. This board can be a place for all thoughts and opinions, but it’s a two way street.
As expected you're citing an extremely non-credible source --- only slightly above you in that regard --- but that's your problem. Bottom line is I stepped away from this, yet you continue to attack me, and even tagged me to stir up trouble. I'm not sure what your problem is, but you are in obvious need of psychological help. Quit stalking me and get a life.
False in every aspect, and the fact you used the term "sycophants" to describe posters who may happen to agree with me on a given opinion is an insult to whomever it's directed at. Perhaps (unlike you apparently) I actually respect their opinions, and we can have civilized conversations and disagreements without attacking each other.

Do you not recognize an olive branch when you see one? You have a weird definition of stalking. For once, I’m not trying to stir shit up. Merely telling you what we see from our prospective. This board isn’t yours to decide what to do with. If someone has a constructive disagreement or criticism, that isn’t you getting attacked, and it’s not a license to be condescending.
@coryfly is one of the most reasonable, level headed posters here, so not sure what issue you take with him.
