Getting the ball inside to Bacot will create a lot of open threes and cuts to the basket as well.

I t was another typical game in dbagvile...25ft attempts to 8 for the woofs...my God the bailout calls never stop in that dump

They complain when we get that against the woofs. When the shoe is on the other foot……..crickets!

I watched that game, so many calls that wouldn’t have gone dooks way if the game was at PNC. I sometimes wonder if officials are aware of home team bias. & btw, I don’t think we are immune to home cooking, sometimes we get crazy favoritism at home.

ill play guys....pack shot 28 threes, burns shot hooks and faders, no one attacked the rim except for clark really and he was successful for the most part....state had many bonehead fouls and duke attacked the rim consistently....and about 8 ft attempts came in that last minute or so when they made a run after being down 12 w/ 1:47 to go

Look you are a defensive Dookiee because you KNOW that you get callafter call after call
And its been that way for over 30 years....open you eyes and WATCH your team get away with hack after hack on the DEFENSIVE end of the court. ..it's always the same script with you jerks...go back over the last 10 15 20 25 years and count how often opposing teams never get to the bonus...like state last night...or get single digit fts attempts...admit it and for once one of you should admit the fact what everyone else knows about the massive advantage you have gotten and sadly continue to get from the zebras

not defensive at all...just engaging in banter...so your 39-12 advantage in yall game against state and the 24-10 was all a grand design by the refs in yall favor?

There's certainly truth to that. But if we're honest, we're probably in 2nd place on that measure.

We all know that there are good reasons why some teams go to the line a lot that do not have anything to do with the refs. But the refs are an obvious factor as well - sometimes more than others, some refs more than others, and in favor (or against) some teams more than others.

You'd think there would be numerous doctoral dissertations or investigative journalism pieces on this. Why aren't there? Or are there and we just don't hear about them?

And then there's the issue of "make up calls."

1A and 1B...=)...honestly though, state last night didn't attack the rim really at all to garner calls

Watched part of the Duke-NCSU game last night, and Proctor of Duke looks like he wants to be just like Grayson Allen after watching him pick a pushing match with Smith then perform a perfect soccer flop. And the refs called the foul on Smith after a video review. Pitiful refs. Proctor needs to be watched, as he was clearly rewarded for initiating the pushing match then flopping.

Does there exist a fan base that does not believe fully that the refs make calls constantly that hurt their teams chances of winning? If so I sure don't know what fan base that would be. Yes, there are coaches the teach their players to foul just as coaches teach kids how to flop. Many coach to have the refs be forced to get whistle happy and risk fouling out way to many players, which most refs hate to do or allow a game to get extra physical to the point where they feel they have to step in and retake control. No matter what they do they are going to get an earful from at least one of the coaches and many times from all of them.

Refs do make bad calls all the time, refs do change the way they call a game all the time, I wish they would be consistent so the players can adjust to their whistle but that is not always the case. Coaches, just like players have to adjust to the way each individual refs is calling a particular game and some are able to brow beat the refs to the point of gaining an advantage, K did this constantly and refs hesitated to boot him due to his status in the sport, not right but we all know.

I get a touch put off with our fan base complaining about the refs after every single game, are those complaints valid, at times yes but at times no not really. WE see that 1 play that we saw as a awful call, we pay little notice when it is the other team that takes issue with a call, that is human nature and we are all guilty of that. It is actually up to the coaching staffs to submit information to the league on ref decisions that they take strong issue with, it is up to coaching staffs to persue that so that the league can determine what needs to be done to correct it. Now you can offer that the league does little to nothing about it and you would be correct but you have to persist and work with other coaching staffs, enough complain things can get done. But here on a message board all that is going to happen is we look like children upset at being punished for something we said we didn't do. LOL

UNC used to get calls at home all the time! DES used to teach his guys to sell the foul on D which lead to the infamous 4 guys flopping on the same "charge" pic! puke definitely is the king of the foul discrepancy at home though! ratty actually taught overly aggressive D (can't call 'em all) and the infamous leg kick on O as well as the fall down and pull the jersey so the guy falls on top of you D! I pray those days are over and we get to some normalcy since nobody is afraid of Face except possibly mirrors! puke creating such a plethora of whiny, cheating, over-celebrating arse-wipes is a much more important topic to me!

I do not believe the refs are ever solely responsible for wins/losses, but that doesn't mean we can't highlight the especially egregious calls or refs!

I do believe that Love will get the assignment of slowing Roach and it may be personal. Some may know and some may not know that Love wanted to go to Duke but people in the Blue Devil camp felt Roach was a better fit for their program so sinking that dagger of a shot over Williams last season in the final four show down had to give Love some self worth and satisfaction but slowing down Roach who is the heart and soul of the Blue Devil on Saturday probably means more to him since the game means so much to Carolina’s chance of getting into the dance. I also believe Roach May have to cover Love on defense..
